BGC 2018 NFL DRAFT/PATRIOT-TYPE THREAD

So many great games today.

QB and Jewell went at it. Barkley is unreal out there. 358 all purpose yards. Just a freak. Jewell had a hell of a game as well 16 TKL, 3 TFL, INT, 2 FR, 2 PBU

Marcus Allen is a guy that some Pats fan will love. Looks like proto type SS at the next level with his size/frame and ability to add more weight.
He started out playing flag football and has been coached by his Dad who was a s&c coach. Curtis Martin is his godfather.

Allen's instincts and awareness have improved imo and that's something I wanted to see bc he's prob always gunna have trouble in coverage to a degree. But his mental makeup could help big time. Big hitter who shows some snap through his hips when delivering. Big time leader in on/off the field. Coaches love him. Better the closer he is to the los imo.

Good to read about his discipline and awareness improving. Hopefully he gets some consistency in that department. Certainly a nice Pat watch.

I think you could "scheme" him and put him in safe coverage responsibilities and he could possibly be a pretty good SS. Depending on weight he might even play a hybrid role? Sometimes guys get better bc of natural development, trajectory, Coaching, practice, in the weight room and so on. I think he's a smart, aware player and improved on some strengths to a degree.

Big hurricanes fan. Any Braxton Berrios fans?

Yes. He reminds me of Welker a bit. Surehanded but just tough as nails. Dedicated and seems like a good guy.

He was def under utilized at Miami but looks to be breaking out at the right time for sure.

I've been thinking about the WR class as a whole. Features and slots. This class is loaded.

A. Miller and R. James are two guys I like also for the slot role. Even Kirk, I don't think he gets picked as early as most seem to think.

Godwin IG is a guy that Bill will be all in for. Great guy that gets a long with teammates (has a band Graffiti Lake, with some and sings) and coaches love him.

Solid tackler you can trust to hit the right gap at the right time in the run game. Can cover some crossers and will prob be better closer to the l.o.s. as SS.

5th SR that prob could have got picked last year but went back to solidify his slot.

Anyone watch, hear of, know anything about Anthony Winbush?

7.5 Sacks, 10.5 TFL & 3 FF so far this year.

His get off is legit and up there with the best. Motor that doesn't quit, just relentless. Can cross your face and seemingly slide by defenders laterally. Has enough strength to bull snatch. And again great burst. Will time OT'S with his strides and can get under pads.

Hard worker who praises teammates for success. Very much a football player. Loves Chick fil a. Studies opponents.

He's small, around 6'1-6'2 230. Fans will look at Freeny, Elvis etc as examples of smaller linemen who made it but his size presents an issue.
Another concern is his ability to bend/turn the corner against contact. Can he add weight and strength to rip by linemen and put them on his shoulder or will he just clunker by and eventually get to the QB?

Maybe a move to LB? LEO? Hybrid?

Interesting prospect.

Tate is sooooooooo ****in good. Shields defender away from the ball. Not afraid of contact and natural hands. This guy is special. Has 3 of 4 FSU TD'S this year.

I hope people realize FSU'S oline is abysmally bad.

Winbush has quicks in seemingly all directions. Straight foward, Laterally etc. +++Motor. Watches his opponent and the game to get better. He's small and absolutely has to get stronger but he does have some power. Big question is, is it enough to power through contact at the next level. Pass rush specialist? Love the way he moves.

Really hope he test out well and is around 6'2/240-50 ish. There's plenty to work with if that's the case.

Ryan Carter of Clemson should be getting some love. Dabo loves him and raves about his work ethic and growth as a man.

He's small but has that disciplined, physical style you love. Quick, good footwork. Loves to mix it up. 10 TKL, 9 SOLO, so far this year. He's versatile and lined up almost everywhere at Clemson.

Kalen Ballage is a fascinating prospect. Even for the NFL Ballage is a freak. Just think about that for a second. How Can that be if he hasn't even played a snap.

Ballage is almost 6'3/230 and routinely hits 22+ mph on the field, live game with pads on. He hit 23+ last summer working out with teammates. He also has a 37 Vert and ovet 9.11+ Standing Long Jump. Add a 350 power clean, 360 Bench and 510+ squat to that.

Ballage is from Peyton Co and has very athletic genes in his family. Father, Reggie played college ball at Colorado. One uncle played at N.D. and 2 years with the Colts. One who played at Colorado and in the CFL.

He didn't get his size from his parents though. Neither stood above 5'8. He does have some height sprinkled in throughout his family though. An uncle who 6'7 and grandmother who's 6'.

Ballage's father raised him to be humble and with a mind set that he has to work for absolutely everything. His father Reggie got that from his father who served multiple tours in the military.

As a player Ballage might be the most intriguing in the class. He run multiple routes from the backfield. Sneak into the flat, wheel, dump offs and even stretch the field bc of his speed. He shows good patience and follows his blocks inside. A nice jump cut that he can explode from and enough speed to bounce it outside. 230 but seemingly glides bc his feet are so light. If he hits top speed hes very tough to catch and will run over DB's that try to get in his way. Ideal flex/3rd down back with feature potential.

Ballage has trouble creating on his own. He looks confused/shook at times when a hole isn't presented for him. Too often brough down by a single defender close to the los. Doesn't fall foward to give you simple, small gains. Lacks super quicks to create on his own. Pass pro needs work.

For w/e reason production just isn't there. ASU has said they wanted to get him more touches but fans have been waiting for that to come to fruition for over a year.

My .02 on Marcus Allen - S - PSU. Would have loved to have him 20 years ago. A Lawyer Malloy type player. Just doesn't play the ball well enough to help out against the pass in today's game. A lb I like whom might fit our needs is Tegray Scales - Indiana. He's listed at 6'0" 230lb. Looks longer and has the type of frame he might be able to put a little weight on.

Familiar but not sure he can add much more weight tbh.

This hit should be on every draft board.

Great legal hit.

Auden Tate has a TD in every game this year.
