James White: "There’s Always This Year"

Good read. Here's a quote about BB:

"When I finally got back to my feet, I saw Coach Belichick walking towards me. I kind of figured he was going to tell me whatever I’d messed up. But when he got to me, he said kind of casually, in his voice that never really changes tone, “So one thing you’ll learn: The bigger they are, the harder they hit.” And then he walked away."

The final paragraph is also a good read:

"You know it’s kind of funny, after we won last year, I had so many people mobbing me to get interviews that by the time I actually made it back to the locker room all my teammates had left the stadium to go celebrate somewhere else. It was honestly kind of a bummer to walk in there expecting a party and not see anyone. I think that’s the only thing about the whole experience I might have changed. I really wish I could have celebrated right there with my teammates in the locker room after we won that game we worked so hard together to get to."

Very humble guy I didn't even know James White had 14 Receptions in that Frustrating game. I still can't believe they won, everything went their in that Fourth Quarter. Still the Falcons could have won had they not get greedy and played situational Football after that Julio Jones routine catch for him that catch and toe drag wow.

What a great read! Thanks so much for that link,

There's Always This Year | By James White

Great article from a guy I hope is a lifelong Patriot.

LOL, Classic BB after White got hit hard by Browner:

"But when he got to me, he said kind of casually, in his voice that never really changes tone, “So one thing you’ll learn: The bigger they are, the harder they hit.” And then he walked away."

Honestly, Bill must be ****in hilarious.

You know he ****s with everyone the way he did with White. He has the best straight face/poker face ever, which just makes it funnier.

Reading this provides great insight into the kind of players Bill drafts. Good guys. Smart guys. Workers. I felt all those in this year's picks. Esp Rivers and Wise.

When you play for the Patriots, there’s never any second-guessing what the goal is. There’s no questioning your role or how you’re used. You take direction, you practice and you execute.

That’s how you win Super Bowls.

Nah, they cheat.;)

There wasn't another reason needed to like James White -- but the cup runnith over.

He's not the human highlight reel like Lewis was in his first season here. But I think every single thing BB/JM expect of JW he has improved/upped his game on. And his attitude and work ethic is catnip for BB. There's little wonder why he appears to be heading to Kevin Faulk V2 status.

His SB performance sealed the deal for me, everything subsequent is just icing on the cake..

Well written article, guess Browner must have been paying attention when he "ran directly into a brick wall named Brandon Browner", no penalty that was a rarity...

Very easy to see why he was made the 2nd highest paid RB in team history.

Browner was on his team, it was during practice.

Direct quotes and observations from players and coaches, in articles like these, give us fans such amazing insight. Great read. Usually I feel lucky when a reporter throws a few game quotes or blurb into his column. Never mind getting 3 pages of it straight from the horses mouth.
