I don't think you can discount the job Gronk did chipping JJ Watt. On almost every pass play, Gronk would hit him first and then realease, giving Waddle plenty of time to set up to block Watt. Pass catching, unless you hold him, you can not stop him.

I think the defense was awful, the secondary was terrible, McCoutry was terrible. I can only hope that Hightower gets healthy quick.

Cooks was amazing, and once again for the 999th time, Danny Amendola came up with a huge catch in crunch time.

Only Tom Brady wins this game, any other QB in the history of the world, the Pat's lose this game.

1. This team continues to struggle against mobile QBs.

2. Brady was phenomenal even while getting killed most of the afternoon.

3. The Patriots come out in the second half up tempo. 5 plays TD. Next two drive they slow it down and drives die fast. Last drive up tempo 8 plays and a TD. I don't have an issue with the runs in those middle two drives but keep the Texans gasping for air.

4. Cooks has arrived.

5. Brady cannot keep laying DA out or he's never going to make it.
Not a bad post, but point #5 is a bit curious? As long as he's on a bit of a "pitch" count, Amendola has proven over and over and over he can make those difficult catches and especially when the game is on the line.

So you are moving the goal posts from saying mobile QBs are always giving the defense trouble to somehow talking about his arm.

Gotcha, you have nothing on the garbage you wrote about mobility before..
Luuked, he has to get in his 25 posts a day to keep up his average. He gets a cookie for getting the fastest 1000 posts ever I guess.

What do people think of Watson going forward? Too early to tell? Great QB?

I said he would be ROY before the season and be back here for the AFC championship game. I wouldn't bet against either one of those.

Great win, amazing finish to a great game but the defense was bad again i'm interested to see what mid season trade/roster movement Bill comes up with to try and improve this defense, i can't see him being happy to continue giving up 30 a game, a trade seems inevitable.

Cooks is going to be a special player this year for this O.

The defense has been, uncharacteristically, giving up big plays this season, not sure why that is.

The long pass to Ryan Griffen when they were almost burying Watson was horrible.

Had Brady thrown it low Amendola would have gotten laid out. He actually saved Danny from a bigger hit.

Obviously, the offense was absolutely awesome.

Belichick can judge the defense. However, giving up 33 points to an awful offense just can't be expected to win every week.

I thought the offense was inconsistent. Brady is unbelievable, but plenty of times we just needed a couple first downs we couldn't get a few yards passing. Great that Brady can heave a completion while the D is bearing in in on him play after play, but it's not reliable.

The reason Brady wins consistently is we go on long tears of moving the chains over and over. Cooks is a different talent, but we need to replace the reliable part to an extent IMO. We can do it with our receivers and running backs and it will loosen up things for Gronk and Cooks too.

Mobile QBs have been a problem for years now, not sure if it’s because our D-Line or no linebacker able to keep these guys in the middle.

I think he means he'll get killed and I agree. Need to get back in the groove, then add Cooks, who is a tremendous athlete. We're missing three WRs who clicked last year, that's a lot.

Agreed on the inconsistency, but it's hard to argue with 36. Through 3 games, averaging 33 a game. I'll take that all day, and that's enough to win you any (and arguably every) game in this league.

well..preseason game three is in the books with no discernible injuries of note. I want Cannon back ASAP....and High.

I was thinking of my "sansabelt" trousers when I entered that...

Sansabritches?

We've been too slow, the way we're built. They've overcome it with scheme, though.
