Mustard truck crashes into Rams laundry room

ANYTHING is better than Bankofamericasox stick-and-ball pastoral sleepytime lawn recreation.

If you honestly think that watching Rams/49ers on a Thursday night game is better than watching baseball, then your parents failed you.

Collinsworth with the burn following Hoyer's rushing td: "that touchdown spike was the best pass Hoyer will throw tonight"

Maurice Clarett?
Who was the receiver in Cincinnati who jumped into traffic Chris Henry right?
Then the receiver in Detroit who was lost his mind and was robbing houses.
Very Interesting

It is so sad the Rams won. If both teams come in 0-2 it could have been billed as the game for the number 1 pick.

I move we change this thread to other games week 3 thread.

LOL, this game IS sponsored by a mustard product company!

Is it me, or does Robert Woods look taller with the condiment jersey?

French's -- the bright yellow kind they put on hotdogs. Yes, the game hasn't even started and hundreds in the stands are complaining of severe eyestrain. They're finding binoculars in trashcans all over the stadium.
I got some free time, so I counted and listed all of the good, beneficial and decent things Commissioner Goodell has done in his tenure, for the league and the game.

Well, here goes:

Whew! That was tiring. Somehow, visually this game reflects where the game has...regressed over the last eleven years.

Haven't watched it, but the Timeline episode says that league profits were way down in the early 80's...amazing , how many things they were in fact doing right then, but apparently did not realize it.

Where in the final standings (and attendance) would a team made up of the better SF+LA players combined end up ? While there are talented players on both sides, there just seems to be so many missing pieces.

Hoyer is been hard to watch: He is missing open receivers, throwing to short of the line to gain on 3rd down, and forcing it well covered receivers.

Yet, when he finally hits a receiver in the numbers he drops it.

Another Thursday Night Football Dud in Week 3: Rams - 49ers

If you thought last week's Texans-Bengals game was bad, there is a good chance this one surpasses that epic flop.

They should really do one of these for every Thursday game.

Okay, if you want some serious previews, here you go:

How the Rams match up with the 49ers for Thursday's game

With journeyman Brian Hoyer as their starting quarterback, the 49ers appear to be aiming toward the 2018 draft and a chance to select a franchise quarterback. Hoyer, a 10th-year pro, completed 15 of 27 passes for 99 yards, with an interception, in Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks. The 49ers have yet to score a touchdown.....

The Rams routed the Indianapolis Colts and challenged the Redskins into the final minute. The 49ers have not found the end zone. Rams coach Sean McVay lost in the matchup against mentor Jay Gruden but he has more weapons than fellow first-year coach Kyle Shanahan. Rams 30, 49ers 16.

Thursday Night Football Preview: Rams vs. 49ers

If you like a battle of running backs, this is the game for you (8:25 p.m. ET, NFLN).....

Gurley and Hyde enter tonight’s game fourth and fifth, respectively, in yards from scrimmage just two weeks into the season. Gurley is hurdling over defenders for a good balance of 128 rushing yards and 104 receiving yards, while Hyde has shown to be a greater threat on the ground (168 yards) than in the pass game (51 yards).

Both teams are in the bottom third in rush defense, so one could anticipate a big night for the backs as the league continues its running back resurgence. But the Rams now have Aaron Donald back for his second game after rounding into form late on Sunday and he could be a game-changer.

I watched a lot of NFL games growing up not involving the Patriots, and I enjoyed them immensely. I got excited for the games, who I'd get to see, and just watching was a blast. I kind of viewed them as scouting opportunities for when the Pats would play them in the future. Anyway, it was a great "product", and I appreciate the sport and all who participate and contribute, even if I'm rooting for the Pats.

Today, several things suck about the games and the league. Uniforms that are bush league and classless beyond belief are worn every week now (by the Patriots), and the rest of the league are now following "suit" on Thursday nights.

Thursday and Saturday football used to signal Thanksgiving, the onset of the holidays and winter, and the home stretch for pro football. Used to.

It's a pretty entertaining game tonight. (Baseball is a tired anachronism, especially poorly administered MLB.)

You have no idea what you're talking about, given that baseball is currently far more competently administered than the NFL.

BTW, the Bruins 3rd exhibition/preseason game was also on TV tonight.

You are correct on this. Just look at the MLB's reaction to the apple watch sign stealing accusation.

The MLB commissioner reminded everyone that sign stealing was legal, then gave the Sox a slap on the wrist for the electronics. They also gave the Yankees a slap on the wrist. They correctly dismissed it as being no big deal, and the media moved on fast. Imagine if NFL could be run with such competence.

I am enjoying it immensely. I was only going to tune in briefly but I found myself sticking with it throughout the first half and was thoroughly entertained. I think I'll watch the second half.

Anyone got the video of that unnecessary roughness helmet to helmet hit? my stream cut out before they showed the replay.

Love how Collinsworth got to call that Watkins catch looking straight back over his head. He didn't mention it, but Collinsworth had a similar catch in SB16.

Regards,
Chris

Can’t wait for that 49ers Jets Super Bowl this year.
