2018 Draft Prospect Thread

As Brissett is starting to look like the 3rd round flier he was & not a capable NFL starter, what we are staring at next season:

41 year old Tom Brady
Year 3 Brissett
UFA Garoppolo - pay him $22 million for 1 year or let him walk. Gut says they let him walk.

Will a round 1 QB be an unpopular opinion around these parts? (Even a trade up) Brady's outplayed Jimmy G's timeline.

BB could evaluate the 2018 QB in year 3 when Brady is 43 & a free agent. If Brady is still the best in the game you can still go another year.

If we kept our pick and he fell. I fully expected us to take Mahomes at the end of the 1st.

I'm not opposed to it by any means.

Lies .....

Hard to believe so many teams will pass on this game between the two.

Anyone watching FSU/Bama tonight?

So much talent on the field tonight.

Mossing guys including Minkah. Tate is legit #1 WR Type

Anyone check out Taquan Marshall ? Man what a game.

Here's a sleeper to keep an eye on. PSU doesn't take many Jucos. Tyrell Chavis(56) - DT didn't play a lot last year because he reported in August. Not starting yet this year.
But, he's growing into one of those fatties BB loves. Thinking late rounder.

Penn State football Tale of the Tape: Defense vs. Akron Zips

The other DT to keep an eye on is Curtis Cothran(52). He looks to be about
6'5" 300. High cut body. Built a little bit like Richard Seymour. Obviously,
doesn't play like him. Will prob get drafed before Chavis. Doesn't seem
our type of DT though.

Will get a better feel for those guys as Big 10 season unfolds. Play Pitt
this week.

Ed Oliver hasn't played so that team D might change.

Can't wait to see how this guy measures up, h/w etc. Had a day against Ill. Some impact plays that took Ill out of fg range.

Check out that dip ...

BB gave us too much work over the weekend. Finally caught up with this game.
Too much talent on the field for evaluations.

Some quick superficial notes to share (possibly very wrong;))

BAMA
Harris - amazing. also PP, blocking, ST tackling..
Ridley - giving up too easy on some YAC opportunities (or overpowered)
(Bozeman - underwhelming)
---
Payne - solid start
Frazier - good show, confirmed watch list for mid/late round
Hamilton - strong start of the season, leader
Evans - somewhat disappointing first starting but the season is young
DBs all solid. I didn't like Harrison's tackle on QB. He looks like such a great asset though: free safety, strong safety, star, special teams..

FSU
Tate - breaking out as expected. didn't really understand so many people sleeping on him
Izzo - intriguing TE watch. good blocks, some tough YAC conversions, looks tough
T Rubble - a bit raw at LT but held ok. interesting watch
---
(didn't pay too much attention to James and McFadden . both out of reach)
Nnadi - expected more (will watch separately)
Sweat - looked good. (his character something to monitor)
Pugh, Hoskins - confirmed intriguing LB pairing (will watch separately)

new name added to watch list - Isaiah Buggs, ALA

Devastating loses for Francois, Lewis and Miller. Terrell Lewis w such an amazing start. A pity.

Agreed abt Nnandi. I wanted a lot more from him.

Sweat needs some counters but looked solid.

LOL I think Francois was pressured on like 40 drop backs.

I think we need to keep an eye on Hubbard of Ohio state as a pass rusher that we need in our defense next season.

Mayfield is on fire tonight. He looks like a superstar in the making. Not afraid to sling the ball, and knows what he wants to do in the offense.

We are .. like with every lacrosse player ;)

Between Chubb and him as #1 Pats edge option. And they might actually go for it early looking how its turning out..

I like Chubb a lot. Wrote about him in my thread and think there's a lot there to work. Street is interesting too to say the least.

David Montgomery is a guy that should be followed from now on. Almost 30 missed tackles in 2 games. More than he had all last year. Can obviously make guys miss but check out him running over this defender and walking over his mask. Great effort and toughness.
