Remember it only takes one team being combination desperate enough and stupid enough to lose a guy you're trying to stash in the practice squad. And the other teams in our own division are filled to bursting with both desperation and stupidity.

No they don't. JB is sitting in a pocket making reads. If he was asked to start anywhere during the regular season they would design plays that used his athleticism. Watch last year's Texans game.

Anyways he's not a scrub. He's not a starter for the Pats but he would be better than any of the garbage on the Jete roster.

Given what he was traded for, he definitely wasn't "cut," which is what most of those posts were about.

Not sure why you are patting yourself on your back because you were wrong with the entire thread premise.

Like I said there is no way he makes it onto the PS because some bottom feeder would happily get him. And they got him in a trade that nobody and especially the idiots who wanted him cut saw coming.

I just realized Brissett will start week 1 for the Colts, and it's his year 2. Jimmy G gets to sit behind again in Year 4. Brissett already has 2.5 games under his belt to Jimmy G's 1.5 games.

My point in the thread was we don't need 3 QB this year. A roster spot is too valuable. That has proven to be true.

Having a single NFL win under his belt automatically put Jacoby Brissett somewhere in the top half of NFL backup quarterbacks

I doubt it. Dorsett could have been cut from the Colts. Pats might have gotten a 7th rounder or 6th rounder for Brissett instead. Point is the same. You try to get whatever value you can when you don't want to keep a player on the roster. Which is what they did.

Not at all. They needed to move Brissett, and they got whatever they could for him. Dorsett was on the bubble at the Colts. "Former 1st rounder" is irrelevant. He was 5th WR on depth chart there at best.

You're actually doing it again. You started with the premise that you could be beset with not make the team and used it to prove that Jacoby Brissett would not make the team. That's called arguing from the premise and it's a logical fallacy.

If the trade was not made is Jacoby Brissett on this side or that side of the bubble that's the real question. I think the trade prove there was enough value that if the market hadn't developed on a timely basis he would have been kept.

Dear morons dancing because of the trade. The word is TRADE. He was not cut. As for the idiots thinking we could squeeze him onto the practice squad, um if Indy could get him or free would they have? Trading for him essentially means they feared someone with a higher waiver priority might claim him. (They could be wrong - I mean it is Indy - but I digress.) And all of those post you quote are pre-Edelman's injury. I would not have connected the dots there myself -tell me you think slot receiver and 3rd string QB as being equivalent.
Again, I digress. If you told me Edelman gets injured and Bill trades -not cuts- Brisset to get a WR, I would have shrugged. Cut to make room for a WR and getting nothing in return would get a raised eyebrow.
