Dont get me wrong I think he sounds intriguing but if Lombardi says that he wasnt a consideration during draft then I am not sure he will be now.
Last year we didn't need a PR, so drafting him would indeed have been stupid. Now without PR1 (Jones), durability concerns of PR2 (Amendola) and without PR3 (Edelman), the attitude might have changed. Plus we don't have to spend a draft pick, just make a waiver claim.

Yes, I know somebody has to be cut, so it does remove an asset. But the risk/reward might make sense now.

When was the last time a Patriots pun returner was hurt on an actual punt return?

Brandon Tate. He is available. I know that ship has probably already sailed.

Wow, that would be a classic BB move. He's had a career at least, so I doubt BB would be personally against it [he usually doesn't have personal problems with those that act professionally].

Bonus is...He's a double threat K/P returner and a backup WR.

When did he become available? I'm seeing his competition was cut, but that's 2 day old google art.

Use Amendola in those PR "hands situations", where just making a clutch clean catch in a high pressure game situation is the ONLY important thing that matters. Any other time during the game, put in Foster or whoever.

Unfortunately, Amendola has actually been hurt on PR the last two years, which is why some want to give the duties to someone else.

I don't agree with that thinking, though. I think he's our most reliable PR and I think he'll be fielding punts in crucial situations/inside the 20 at the very least.

C'mon guys! It's so simple!!!!

How about Burkhead? If other running backs are getting the rushing snaps he seems to be an option. We already know he is going to the special teams unit. Seems like a viable option. Better than running dola into the ground anyways

I really don't understand what is wrong with Keshawn Martin. Knows the offense and returns punts and kicks.

I thought he was good here.

I was just writing this post now.. ;)

Keshawn Martin is available. Had a solid camp w DET.
Always liked him. Last minute injury lead to not so nice divorce last Sept. but that shouldn't be a problem

Here a reminder of his 2015 Pat season.
  • Played in nine regular-season games with eight starts and registered 24 receptions for 269 yards (11.2 avg.) and two touchdowns and one rushing attempt for six yards. Was also utilized on special teams where he returned 10 kickoffs for 257 yards (25.7 avg.) and eight punts for 92 yards (11.5 avg.).
  • Appeared as a reserve in both playoff games and caught two passes for 57 yards (28.5 avg.) and returned two kickoffs for 45 yards (22.5 avg.).

He's perfect as a 5wr here. We don't need a superstar. Just someone reliable who can fill in. It seems like a no brainer
