Who in the flying f*** do the Jets have to throw to?

Just looked it up: The NFL record for fewest points scored in a season is 37, set in 1934 by Cincinnati/St Louis

I'm thinking that the 2017 Jets have a shot

I can see it now, with Lucien talking to his friends.

"I can be a starter for the Jets, or I can play on the Patriots practice squad. I'm leaning towards the practice squad."

He has to get through waivers.

Devin Lucien, Austin Carr

Robby Anderson was pretty decent last season. It was a pretty decent receiver class.
don't forget the Hollister brothers

Good thing our RBs can catch. Austin Seferian Jenkins will probably see a decent workload. Robbie Anderson is decent but also makes an Ethiopian look fat (he looks brittle).

Then a few rookie WRs who of course have their good points like any rookies, but remains to be seen if they'll be any good.

You mean it remains to be seen if you will come to terms with reality.

Not sure who they have to throw to but here are some guys still out there for them:

Isn't Rod Tidwell Cuba Gooding's character from Jerry Maguire? If so, that would be a huge improvement if the Jets got him.

By pummeling them into oblivion twice this season, we'll be propelling their campaign for the #1 overall pick next year. This tanking business is really annoying me.

They should just change the offense to the triple option and be done with it.

They're tanking for sure. Just looked at their cap space picture.

NYJ
20M under cap in 2017 and able to carry over to next.
50M under the cap already with their currently signed players for 2018.

They're looking to have 60M-70M to spend in 2018. And obviously a high pick too. Not that that matters if history attests. Will be fun to watch them overpay to lure players willing to help stomp out a dumpster fire. Should get a bunch of real team-first guys too. :)

Not sure about that :), but maybe in the running for one of the 10 worst teams in modern NFL history. The negative point differentials from worst to 10th worst range from -260 to -200. Or -16.5 to -12.5 points a game. They might realistically crack past #10.

Does fielding a team to deliberately "tank" during the season compromise the "Integrity of the League" or is that standard the exclusive venue for the NEP???

Charon Peake, Chad Hansen, Robby Anderson and Jalin Marshall are hardly WR names that strike fear in the hearts of D Coordinators..

It's more like 80 to 90mil in cap space when you factor in some cuts of veterans they may no longer want (like Forte, Skrine...). :D

But that's just a happy coincidence. I'm sure the Jets haven't even looked at 2018 yet. Let alone actually plan for it.

When you don't have a QB, you don't need receivers.

They have plenty of quarterbacks, and you've never heard of any of them... their starting QB this season might be working in a stock room somewhere, and posting on this very BBS at night.

When you're a JETE, the whole world is your roster :)

They have the magic touch... they can suck with a blue-chip prospect, or they can suck with some guy right off the street. It doesn't matter who you plug in where, they manage to get the same result.

"System quarterback," but different system :)

PS, did Joe Willie ever get that sloppy drunk kiss from Suzy Kolber yet?

A huge amount of cap space is helpful if you're one or two players away. The JETE are 53 players away.

Hackenberg will lead the Jets in receptions.

They've got Decker, Marshall and Enunwa coming back, so they'll be fine.

What? Really? Sheesh!
Didn't Decker sign with the Titans?? And Enunwa went on season long IR yesterday with a neck injury..............And as for Marshalls, Jalin is no Brandon....
