If you could bring back one former Patriot that is still active in the league

Considering our current roster I'd have to say Jones or Collins. Jones would solidify an awesome young pass rush, but Collins would make our front 7 one of the best in the league. Can't go wrong with either one.

Talib would be another excellent choice but our secondary is already really good.

Current: Jones.

Former: Mankins. Guy gets drafted three months after Pats win SB. Go nine years without a SB. Trade him after 2013 season. Win SB during 2014 season.

current - Bennett...still mad we didnt get to see the 2 TE sets with Gronk

former - Rodney...imagine McCourty covering at FS with Harrison laying receivers out at SS

Easily Hicks. Collins if he wasn't freelancing so much toward the end of his time here.

In thinking of the positions on the team that have some actual uncertainty...

Brandon Tate! (In case Cyrus Jones doesn't get his return game together.)

Chander Jones, more sacks more better.

Honorable mention to Talib, who was 1st Team All-Pro last season.

Martellus Bennett :D

Too soon ? ;)
I'd have taken him back happily. We could have afforded him, Unfortunately he timed the market poorly. But yeah, there's definitely work that Martellus Bennett could have done in New England, probably even with Gronk and Allen on the roster.

Maybe Benjamin Watson because F[_]Ck the Ravens.

And I guess it'd be cool to potentially win a ring in both his rookie year and possibly final year.

Talib or Hicks. I'm comfortable with our corners though but interior pressure without having to take Flowers off the Edge would be awesome. Branch and Brown are fantastic run stoppers but I'd love to see this defense collapse the pocket up the middle more often. Hicks was a nice surprise after under performing for the Saints, earned his contract.

And taking Hicks back makes Jones less of a need with keeping Flowers on the edge. Loved Jones but felt like his sack numbers were always inflated by 2 or 3 huge games each season followed by several invisible games, especially in the post season.

Flowers and Ealy combined for 5.5 sacks, 1 FF, and 1 INT in the last two Superbowls. Not bad in the spotlight.
