The day after SB LI when I woke up, had to really think was it a dream or did I witness the greatest comeback of all time???..

Even now it seems somewhat surreal.. this stuff is not supposed to happen in the NFL..

Scoring 31 points in 21 minutes is unheard of in the NFL, even grander considering that it took place in the SB.

What's also amazing to me is that 10 of the 31 points came from the three 2-point conversion plays that they ran!

Best Thread Ever...And it's got little to do with the OP: Phenomenal Posts!!

sorta destroyed Goodell's "Flat Ball Theory" didn't it?

I am telling you guys the ball is flat! Also there are giant sea monsters if you go too far out in the ocean and if you get to the edge of a giant flat ball you simply fall off into an endless void! Don't tell me you are one of the people who believe the ball is round do you?

Next you will be telling me the ball goes around the field instead of being the unchanging center of the football field... Sounds like witch talk to me.

Against a good team, I guess. Pats put up 35 against the JEST and Titans in one quarter.

The threads at reddit were crazy satisfying.

Hearing the massive booing Fraudger received was a huge cherry on top. It couldn't have been more perfect.

Even more remarkable is that it actually didn't. They finally get the TD promptly doink the XP. They get a terrific 3rd down conversion to Bennett and two sacks later they only get 3 out of it. An outstanding KO is wiped out immediately with a single blown coverage. And despite having all the momentum to start the tying possessio, the first play is nearly a sack and an interception.

That they just kept coming despite the already long odds and the unfortunate plays is truly impressive.

Yea I did dramatize it a little. They certainly messed up here and there during the comeback. I guess my point is it didn't kill them.

One thing I noticed the last time I watched it was White's one handed snag during the direct snap on the first 2 point conversion.

No hesitation at all. He snags it and runs it in. Boomshakalaka

Exactly! After the doinked XP, they botch the onsides kick. After miraculously forcing a punt after that, they attempt the trick return with Edelman faking the coverage team out to let Chung field the ball and fool them...except his gunner wasn't fooled one bit and snuffed it out. On an out to Mitchell, Malcom *fell down* with the CB right there, but got up and made the catch.

So much continued to go wrong even after the Pats put up their first TD, yet they still overcame it all.

Regards,
Chris

I wasn't busting your balls, I was trying to say their resolve was even more impressive than you indicated.

OP, you are not alone. Seems like this gazoo geek in this thread is waiting for it to sink in as well: Patriots 2017 - State of Franchise

He is still so stunned by what Brady did to his team, and just refuses to accept the outcome, that he believes that game was proof of Brady's decline.

There are some incredibly ignorant posts in that thread. Nothing like reading a bunch of cookie cutter cliché statements.

"Brady used to destroy defenses" - He still does and destroyed yours in the 4th quarter.

"Brady isn't as good as he used to be" - What? His last three years have been the best three years of his career.

"Our defense was banged up" - Gronk was on the sideline. Broken foot Bennett played though.

what'd you expect?...that moron is FROM Buffalo, a transplanted fence jumper by his own admission.

And the icing on top is that the malignant league PAID for the rings and every single one of those 283 diamonds. It's like the gift that keeps on giving. Every day uncovers ANOTHER reason to love this win more "Unequivocally". ;)

Atlanta just needed one big play on offense, defense, or special teams and it would have been over for the Pats.

When Edelman made that catch, I felt the game was going to be ours. Good to put another team on that side of a (offensive) catch

Wow I don't want to be around when that guy hits the anger phase of grief.

I'm still on cloud 9, four months later. I re-watch videos of the comeback almost every day. Its just a shocking thing that the Pats actually won that game.

I watch reaction videos on Youtube, and I realize I reacted like none of the people in those videos. No yelling and screaming from me, I think I was having trouble comprehending what I had just seen. I just sat there stunned, but in a good way. I was actually shaking a little bit too (nervous excitement maybe ?) after they won. That night was just all really surreal for me. I always take off the day after a Patriot's Super Bowl, I always joke that I'm not gonna get any sleep whether they win or lose. And that was the case after this one, was up until past 3am watching ESPN and The NFL Network kissing the Pat's ass.

in fact, they did get the one big play they needed--julio's catch on the sideline. shanahan just decided to get too cute with the play calling afterward.
