Cooks is going to be dominant in this offense. Brady really showed off his deep ball last year and now he has an elite deep-speed receiver to throw to. Cooks can go long, short, slants, screens... ugh. It's gonna be great. And all that coverage going to Cooks and Gronk will give Edelman drastically more openings than he usually has.

Jon Jones is pretty small but he's a great athlete. He may have the "stuff" to cover quick guys in the slot. Maybe he beats out Cyrus? Would be kinda disappointing for a 2nd rounder like Cyrus to kinda flame out, but as long as they've got good CBs top-to-bottom then it's not really a big deal.

Edelman was the only receiver teams had to worry about last year (Hogan and Mitchell are fine but they're not guys for defenses to double team - although the Steelers maybe should have single teamed him more than not bothering to cover him) now Edelman is the other, other guy behind Gronk and Cooks. Barring injury it could be nuts - and a lot more versatile than 2007.

Moss is Moss, and Moss + Welker were a dynamite combo, but there really wasn't a whole lot that defenses had to worry about beyond them. And Maroney was the top RB... Gronk + Cooks + Edelman is gonna be hard as heck to defend, plus some serious potential in the RB rotation of Gillislee/Burkhead/Lewis/White/Foster*, and guys like Hogan potentially being like the fifth option instead of the second.

*please be good

You could make the argument that Cooks has the biggest route tree of anyone Brady has ever thrown to.

Branch would be next....but didn't have Cooks deep speed.

Finally, the first football in nearly 4 months.
