LOL, I remember seeing NBA doubleheaders on Sunday afternoons at the old Providence Arena when I was a kid. Now, that's old!
Everybody in that place for better or worse was smoking ... imagine a place like that today.

with or without rondo winning three straight games after being down 2 is impressive. excellent exp for this team. they took care of the ball tonight.

I don't like the lean in, but that's the way the game is called now. My second favorite player (Pierce) made a living off it. So I can't really say anything. As long as it's not too outrageous and it's called for both sides I don't mind it that much. What makes me really mad is when it's not even almost a foul and it still gets called. Like tonight where Dirty Wade had to take two steps towards the player who had not touched him to initiate contact. Officials should know better than to call ridiculous nonsense like that.

Wade was relying on the pump fake and jump into the defender all night long. Yeah Pierce use to do it but Wade was solely doing it for his main offense. I have seen it for years in the NBA don't get me wrong but tonights or last nights game was irritating.

Smart played some good D and made some 3 pointers and Avery had a great all around game.

I thought I saw Lopez driving his foot into Crowders crotch while Crowder was on the floor.. Lopez I wanted to smack that guy tonight.. he commits an egregious foul then starts flipping out about the call..lol..

I hope the Celts take them down in 6.

I was about 8 when I went to the PA double-header. I wasn't smoking yet, but I was dipping...

Remember when the talk show hosts wanted us to be pissed about how they signed Avery Bradley to his contract in 2014... not just about his O last night, but his overall D abilities.

Last night was one of the first time I can remember that I watched the whole game.. usually it does not hold my interest.

I'm a total "Green Teamer" but not blind to this team's flaws and Danny's occasional missteps.

They aren't getting past CLE but they play hard and are fun to watch.

I remember during the late 50's or early 60's the Celtics used to play pre season games or exhibitions in high school gymnasiums with plenty of seats available.. Jerry West, Bill Russell, Elgin Baylor et al. They played at Rogers High School in the late 50's or early 60's there were plenty of seats available..

This was on the heals of the Eastern States Catholic Invitational Tournament, ESCIT, with great HS teams like Power Memorial(Lew Alcindor), DeMatha, Trenton Catholic and some of the Boston Catholic HS Teams . It was a lot of fun to watch.. of course my Alma Mater, De La Salle Academy played as well although not that well compared to those powerhouses.

I thought I was the only one who remembered that stuff. I saw my alma mater, St. John's of Shrewsbury, play Alcindor and Power Memorial in a holiday tournament in Newport which I believe was hosted by LaSalle.

C's close this out in a couple of days. The officiating is a disgrace. March Madness is the superior product and it isn't even remotely close.

March Madness is hard to watch to be honest, the offense is putrid. Would rather watch the Dubs beatdown of the Blazers than any March Madness game.

I'm more of a fan of defensive basketball coupled with the win or go home set-up of March Madness. The NBA playoffs are putrid. Further, March Madness is absolutely unpredictable. The NBA playoffs are anything but. Is there any doubt, ANY doubt, whatsoever that the two teams that will meet in the Finals are the Warriors and the Cavs?

I forget more than I remember, but somethings provide vivid memories..

It was hosted by De La Salle Academy, my now closed alma mater, La Salle was a player as were many teams from the Catholic High Schools in Mass, RI, NJ, NY, Maryland and DC.. never understood why it did not make the "big time or big venue".. without regard it was a fun event that was easy for us to get to.

Yeah I get what you're saying but it's still much more fun to watch regardless. I think if you watch a lot of NBA it's really hard to watch because the ball movement and shooting is just so so bad. For people who aren't used to it, probably don't notice. Plus you don't see fully developed freaks like LeBron in the NCAA. But **** KD for ruining the playoffs...

To each their own. The ball movement in the NBA (which has been something of a renaissance since 2013) is definitely better than the NCAA, but the NCAA games are typically played at a much faster, attacking pace. When you couple that with the fact that each game is usually unpredictable vs. the NBA, I prefer March Madness. Different strokes.

Nah one of us is definitely wrong and is a snowflake.

Drives me up the wall him with the Celtics and Jack with the Bruins.
Also man I am getting old ... I remember Gorman calling the PC Friar games on NBC Providence.

Marvin Barnes, Ernie D, Pitino. Remember em all

The last 10 champions in men's college basketball have been Duke x2, UNC x2, Uconn x2, Kentucky, Kansas, Louisville, and Villanova. The road leading up to the final might be unpredictable, but the champ usually isn't. I knew UNC would win and I don't even follow it.

The only two teams on that list that aren't well known or historic are the last two.

Celts don't have players to match up with guys like Lopez. I hope they close out the series tomorrow. Hoping they reach the finals is definitely a stretch but I wish they make it to east finals and at the very least put up a tough fight against Cleveland.
