Pats still interested in Sherman

Lock down, blanket coverage Dreads on both hashes...Hose me down...

If the Pats really are interested in him, that's unfortunate. I'd find it nearly impossible to root for such a flaming jackass.

He's the kind of guy who has driven away my interest in every sport/team except for the Pats. A couple of Shermans on the roster, it'll be a clean sweep.

Honestly, I don't think it's that crazy.

The Bucs gave up #13 overall for a 27-year-old Darrell Revis (coming off a torn ACL) and then payed him $16M for the one season he played there.

Now let me be completely clear, I am absolutely, wholeheartedly against trading anything remotely close for that for Sherman, but that type of compensation wouldn't be unprecedented. There are a lot of parallels.

Might as well throw the Herschel Walker trade into the conversation. :D

On the off chance acquiring Sherman happens, my fantasy football team looks strikingly similar to the Patriots.

QB - Tom Brady
RB - Rex Burkhead
WR - Brandin Cooks
WR- Julian Edelman
TE - Rob Gronkowski
UT - Dion Lewis
ST - Stephen Gostkowski
DT - New England Patriots

QB - Jimmy Garoppolo
RB - LeGarrette Blount
RB - James White
WR - Chris Hogan
WR - Malcolm Mitchell
TE - Dwayne Allen
DT - Houston Texans
Rough bye week :)

Butler to NO

#32 back to the NE

#32 and #131 (originally Seattle's pick) to SEA

Sherman to NE

Cut/restructure Amendola- $5m free

Cap space goes from $20.6m to $18m

I'd be ok with this. Really knocks them all down.

dont give up too much for sherman

he is past his prime.....plus he benefited from all the other good guys on that defense

would rather keep butler

what the hell happened between BB and butler?

but sherman is ok if the price is right

Ive never said the real reason i dislike this guy. He is a dirty player who dopes. Thats one..he also uses a rule in an odd way to throw cheap shots at recievers when the qb scrambles.. I know its legal but still just cheap shots

Too much for Sherman.

His salary and age do not warrant a 1st rounder

Sherman reminds me of Rodney Harrison. The kind of player you hate playing against but love on your team. He is smart, plays really hard and would be a great addition if the price was right.
Of course Rodney never doped, or made a cheap hit.

Oh, wait.....................................

Nice. Haven't been to this thread for a while. We've gotten to imagery of weird foods and garbage, I see. I love this sort of thing. (No, I am not being facetious.)

Blanket condemnations of the entire population of major cities. Accusations of dementia induced by insomnia. Charges of "backwards dressing." (I'm guessing that's some kind of anti-plaid rant.)

Everybody knows that excessive rain induces penile inadequacy. Thought I'd throw that in. Also, they are overrun with junkies, and ain't nobody with a more stupid lifestyle than a junkie. (Please, spare me that Addiction-as-Disease nonsense. There's only one cause of addiction: stupidity.)

Let's see. Oh yeah. Women are lousy drivers. Lutherans dress like s--t. I am unaware of a single Muslim who is not a rational and benign person.

That's all for now: keep up the good work.

And no, I am not being facetious when I say I am not being facetious. Let's not overanalyze fercrissake.

I'd like to address each point individually. Not really, I'm being facetious.

Am I supposed to act like I like Seattle even though I don't? I'm not sure that I can pull that off.

I love watching Sherman play. He sticks to receivers with a confidence that reminds me of Revis in his prime. Hard to get that out of my mind, even though I'm sure he's aging. But have to think Gilmore could use the steady hand of a vet to help him reach his potential. I dunno.

1st and a 3rd? **** no.

1st and a 3rd? **** no.

It's a 4th.

I would absolutely give a 1st and a 4th for 2 years of Sherman..

Butler and #32 and a 4th round pick for at least 2 years of Sherman and Cooks is a trade I make

Would much rather have Butler than Sherman. Sherman has been a great cb but a lot of you here grossly overrate him. He is NOT and never has been a lockdown man to man Revis-style cb.( Obviously referencing the old revis). Butler has and will continue to play more man than Sherman. And no sherman can't cover everybody. He's fair to middling on small quick wrs. He's great at jamming, playing pressman against taller wrs. Butler is quicker AND faster. Sherman is NOT an upgrade from Butler especially when you consider the other 2 top Pats CBS are both 6'+. There's a reason the Seahawks don't have any takers yet. It's not just his $11 mil a year or his mouthing off. He does not fit every scheme. He's not a Peterson or revis who can play any scheme. What he does w/in the Hawks scheme is superb, but I take his stats with a huge grain of salt. There are 3 or 4 other CBS I'd rather have than him.

Omg. Your out of your mind. Are you a closet Seahawks fan? That would be an absolute ripoff. I'm not giving up a 1st rounder for Sherman at his age and limited skill set.

Any chance you can stop mentioning Amendola in the Sherman circus or any trade scenario whatsoever ?

His upcoming restructure will happen no matter what else goes down and has nothing to do with anything but the fact that he is making too much money to be the #5 WR. We are not running out of cap space or anything but his pay simply doesn't correspond to his (projected) role.

Lombardi thinks that closer to the draft Seattle might accept less than a first round pick because according to Mike for them its mostly about dumping the Sherman's salary and rebuilding their front 7 which is the key to their defense especially now that they are playing more man coverage which exposes Sherman's weaknesses (e.g. in-cuts) more than when he exclusively played outside.
