Kraft to Giants Owner: You guys would have beaten us in SB

Well depends how many times they got on the party boat i guess :p

The Pats and Giants have always been closely intertwined at the top. The owners are friends. BB use to work there and the way he talked about it he seemed to love it there almost more than here. As much as us fans don't tend to like the giants the top brass at the Pats and the top brass at the Giants tend to be good friends.

Honestly and I mean this in the nicest way I can.... I don't pay much attention to what Bob Kraft says these days. He is getting to that age when sometimes people can't keep up with the conversation like they use to(everyone is different of course). I have been noticing it for a while now.

Kraft probably said that tongue-in-cheek because the Giants beat us twice in the SB in the TB/BB era.

Something like: "Yeah, good thing you didn't made it to the SB, you would have beaten us again."

I can't imagine Kraft having been serious about that.

Possibly...but given who your chatting with (lying, two-faced weasels who pull Goodell's strings), why effing go anywhere near there?

If the statement is true, it is just another example of Kraft sucking up to the NFL elite in another failed attempt to fit in with their clique. Going back to the original article, it doesn't appear that Kraft's comment was made in jest or taken out of context.

And just like what happens when the high school geek tries to fit in with the cool kids, Tisch betrayed Kraft and embarrassed him - making his comment public once the noise from the Superbowl had quieted down, on a slow news day when and all the sports world would notice.

Unfortunately the masses will accept the Tisch/Kraft comments as gospel truth. It will become accepted as factual that the Giants would have beat the Patriots, which is extremely unlikely.

While Tisch's decision to make the statement seems to be framed as an attempt to boost his team and his coach, I can't help but wonder if this was a cold calculated move to bring the Patriots down a notch. All this talk not only about Brady and Belichick being the greatest ever is one thing, but for the public to be saying that the Patriots may be the best franchise in NFL history? That has to be eating at the NFL establishment such as Tisch and his co-owner John Mara.

Too much positive press on the Patriots. Time for the power elite to bring them down a notch.

This is clearly and obviously what happened, and the reactions in this topic are just reinforcing the "Pats fans are sensitive" stereotypes.

If Kraft said that, I think it's smart. Just mind games. We know we're the best so we lower the expectation for ourselves and build a false confidence for our opponents.

That's very possible.

Let's say that hypothetically Kraft did make the statement in jest.

My question is this: Why then is Tisch making this comment public, now?

Did Tisch also make the comment tongue-in-cheek? That does not appear to be the case based on the article of the columnist that interviewed Tisch.

Yeh, ok, I am so sure a team that came back from a 25 point deficit against a much better team (Falcons) would have lost the Super Bowl to a team that got slaughtered in the wild card round....OOOOO KKKKK

Bob takes atomic wedgies from the league as a sign of acceptance and friendship.

I will be curious to hear what Kraft has to say when a Patriot beat reporter asks him about Tisch's comment.

If Kraft says his comment was made in jest or that he doesn't recall then he makes Tisch look bad.

Kraft can't admit that he did say it either because that would be a slap in the face to Belichick, Brady and the entire 2016 New England Patriot organization.

With that in mind his answer will surely be just a bunch of words that don't answer the question. Much like a Roger Goodell Q&A.

The 2016 Patriots would have beaten the 2016 Giants pretty soundly, IMO.

I'll go further- the Patriots would have blown out the Giants by 20+. Pittsburgh was a far superior team to NYG and they got their butt kicked. They weren't even a top 5 NFC team. They are improving after years of suckage, but they woulda been destroyed.

Or it could have been along the lines of, " I'm sure your Giants wouldn't have blown a 25 point lead late in the 3rd quarter."
Transmorphed into "he told me we would have beaten them."

This is nothing more than scrote scratchin among the good old boys billionare club. Bobby might of had one to many T & T's and felt some pity for those Juggernaut Giants with their 30-34 record in the last 4 January couch competition olympics.
