confirmed:No. He had literally JUST caught the ball when Chancellor drilled him. Almost a simultaneous act, actually.
Eh...if they implement this right I can't see how this is bad thing, look at the very first game of last season, Panthers @ Broncos, that was a **** show of headshots against Newton.
The NFL gets a lot of negative publicity regarding the long term health effects of the game. It is important to them that people *perceive* that they are trying to address the issue. Hence the lip service.Does anyone else think that the concerns from the NYFL are merely lip service?
Exactly.I'm all for player safety, but an automatic ejection for an inconsistent penalty is too much. Each ref seems to enforce the rule differently.
What they can do would be to issue a suspension for the next game if the hit was truly worthy of a suspension after there was ample time to review the hit.If they are serious about limiting head injuries, they probably should do something more than 15 yard penalty. But what more can they do besides eject players?
25 yard penalties? Points given? Automatic turnover? We don't have to limit ourselves to the usual penalties...Get creative: firstborn son, break a mom's finger, waterboarding?
That answer would be "No."NFL considers more ejections for illegal hits
Outside of economics, does the stupidity of the NFL have a limit?
Curious: So technically, Goodell can be ejected as Commish as a repeat offender ('07, '15 against the Pats)?
