All quiet on Hightower front or Dont'a-do-it FA tour

If he does sign with the Jests, then the Jests can say they stole both he and Revis from the Pats

That's really gotta hurt Hightower's ego that his market has him at the point where he is making visits to a team like the jests. Dude clearly thought he was gonna get $14-$15m a year and be signed within the first few hours of FA.

I mean seriously he's at the point where he's either using a division rival to get more money from the Pats or his market is so much lower than he thought that he has to go on FA visits to hear teams pitch to him.

Let the Jets overpay. Losing HT would sucks, but better that than giving him a bad contract. In BB I trust.

Visiting your rival team on your 4th day of FA as a top level free agent is a tool move.

But but people on here said that Hightower's market would be great and there would be 10 teams lined up to pay him $14m per year.... And yet here he is on the 6th or 7th day of FA (2 day tampering period included) listening to a FA pitch from the f**king jests..

Did Bill nail his market or did Bill nail his market. Seems like Hightower's pride was hurt that Bill was right and he and his people were wrong

He'll sign here before he goes humiliate himself like that ..
(no disrespect to our Jets fan)

Time for the Patriots to make an offer that blows his socks off. It's not that far from
NY to Boston. If we wake up tomorrow and Hightower is not a Patriot, he won't ever
be one.
I predict he will be a Patriot.

IF he signs with the Jets I want to see none of the White Knights on this forum disliking or disagreeing with anyone who says anything negative. He will deserve any such barbs being tossed his way. Near any other team would be palatable, but this would be the most d*ckish move he could have done. Fact that he is even visiting is the dumbest thing he could do. Embrassing quite honestly.

He's just going for a free dinner at Smith and Wolenskys

I really, really, REALLLLLLLLLY want DH back, and think he will be.

Butttttttt if he wants to sign with the Jets....

He must be tired of the constant winning from being at Alabama and then in New England, maybe he just wants to try being a loser?

I would have understood and respected going to TN to be back home in the good weather. They're a team that's just a couple pieces away from being really competitive so he can get paid and win at home.

But the Jets, in the cold weather just as far from home winning 5 games a year. That's pathetic.

...or to draw the line and make it clear that the team will not pay him above what they deem to be a fair offer

At this point, what more can the Patriots do?

HT has to decide if he wants to be here. Enough of the games already

what i was afraid of. some garbage desperate team coming out of nowhere.....

and of course its the jets! they will be lucky to win 4 games next season. we're so thin at LB so i hope belichick makes a counter offer!

offer hightower a little more than market value. it's not like we don't have the cash...
should of used the franchise tag!

I understand that players have a short window regarding their careers, but I've always felt that if offers were in a similar ballpark, the true winners would choose a team with a winning tradition and culture. I understand that there can be mitigating circumstances like geography and hometowns, but I just wouldn't be able to comprehend it if Hightower does indeed sign with the NYJ unless they totally blow the Patriots offer out of the water. I'd think losing in NY would be a miserable experience after winning two Superbowls.

Well he wouldn't have to worry about playing an extended season (no playoffs), and maybe hes not all in on BB's "no days off" he might want a break. Lol
