I thank him for everything he did to help this team win, I wish him nothing but the best and he's certainly free to make his own decisions.
That being said, if it's not about the money, it doesn't make any sense.

Former Chris Long: got to play in his favored role=didn't win jack

Patriot Chris Long: Was shown a system and role that proved to be successful= won it all

For whatever reason he decides to go back to the old way thinking maybe now it'll work better?

Like I said, I respect him and thank him but it doesn't compute

No, he decides to go back to the old way because it's more fun for him and now that he has a ring he'd rather have more fun.

People are being really stupid about this subject, it would appear. I think Long is admitting that "the right way to use him", at least for this team, is fundamentally at odds with how he LIKES to play. If anything, he's saying he wants a less intelligent coach who will let him do what he wants. How could this even be considered close to a slight to BB?

He pretty much pulled a classier version of revis. The guy worked hard and did his job. I can totally understand wanting to do what you love (within the game itself) for a living. He won a championship, now he can end his career playing the way he wants. Good for him!

Guy was making a lot more money on bad teams, makes sense for him to want to get paid again.
