Skip Shameless' Take on BB

What's weird is he actually says good things about Brady...how can he be so right about Brady and so incredibly stupid about Belichick? WTF
He loves Brady. He always would counter Stephen Ass Smith with Brady whenever he'd start his usual "Rodgers is a baaad man" mantra. Lol

BINGO!!!

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT yesterday when I read the article. BB is the ONLY coach with a GAMEPLAN in the NFL HOF!!!

And he did that pre-Brady, pre-clev, pre-patriots. Clearly either a click bait headline or Skip is delusional.

I missed this article that you speak of. Where can I find it?

Skip is circling the drain and will say anything that gives him attention. Let him flush.

Skip Bayless once said on Tebow would take Bradys job when the Pats signed him, the guy is getting desperate for ratings now since he's getting under 100,000 a show so only expect his takes to get crazier.

The OP had the url.

Here is the para where Hurley stated what Skip said if you don't want to go to Bostom, cbs site:

Sharpe actually made sense, for the most part.

But then, Skip went full Skip.

“I don’t think he’s a great coach,” Skip declared. “I think he’s a very good one.”

Skip’s reasoning was … honestly, who cares? That’s a really idiotic thing to say. Skip went on about the Patriots being 0-2 to start the year in 2001. Forget the fact they ended up winning the Super Bowl that year; they started 0-2, thus Bill Belichick is not a great football coach. That’s the argument of a professional arguer. That’s hot.

This question is a moot point. Belichick drafted Brady. Anything Brady does just reaffirms his brilliance for the greatest draft pick of all time. It's not a concidence that Belichick saw something in Brady that most didn't.

That's why he's the greatest coach of all time. He has helped Brady reached the utmost of his potential which is the very definition of a coach.

Stupid is as stupid says. Contrived clickbait - no serious person could imply BB isn't a great HC.

To have such a prolonged dynasty in the NFL salary cap era you absolutely must have two things: a great HC and a great QB. A great HC with a mediocre QB may still have some moments of greatness. A great QB with a mediocre HC may still have some moments of greatness. But you have to have the two pieces of greatness together to be on top for such an extended period of time. Patriot fans caught a 1.21 gigawatt lightning bolt in a bottle. The planets aligned. We hit the NFL lotto numbers with these two men coming together on the Patriots.

I don't know what BB is if he ends up with Trent Dilfer for a decade. I don't know what TB is if he ends up with Barry Switzer for a decade. I also don't know what my uncle Mike's name would have been if he would have been my aunt. Theoretical 'what if' conversations can be a fun way to fill time. Yet when those conversations are over we are simply left with whatever objective data that is available. And that data pretty clearly says TB is GOAT and BB is GOAT.

BB has been around so many SB's as a HC, DC or high up assistant that a solid case could be made that when he retires the SB trophy should be renamed the Belichick, Also, when BB does retire it will be the end of an era for a kind of football that otherwise hasn't existed for some time and unlikely to exist again. The effect the retirement will have for us Patriot fans very likely won't be a good one with the exception of eventually getting the most 'must read' book to come out in the history of NFL themed books.

I mean, we all know Skip is ****ing ******ed. But at some point, don't the posters on this board also take responsibility for spreading this ********?

From here on in, we should dislike any posts with links to articles from Skip or Shaughnessy or a dozen other total ****ing morons. Otherwise people are just going to continue spreading stupidity.

You just included a media whore's name in your heading.

Here's some advice for ya - Skip Skip. You'll feel better.

It sounds so simple doesn't it?

I wonder what makes people keep listening to the gasbags.

I also wanted to say that BB and TB are two inseparable GOATs in my mind.

I have no doubt that BB would have got at least two Lombardi's without Tom. Maybe more?? He would have coached up whoever he had. Tom helped him over the top though with 5, nearly 7, and possibly 1-2 to come. Would BB be considered the GOAT coach with only 3 or even 4 SBs? Don't know.

But likewise TB would never have been the GOAT QB without BB. Does everyone not remember WHO TB was spending all that time with watching film as a rookie???? Sure he had drive and determination. But do you honestly believe that the Tomlin's Martz's and Fisher's of the NYJFL would have taught TB how to read defenses, the value of taking a sack, etc etc

TB also only plays on ONE THIRD of the team. DEFENSE and ST have scored almost as many points as TB in several of our /his SB wins. How does TB get credit for that and BB none, THAT's INSANE!

I'm going with Belichick's own words ... it's a players game.

What it comes down to is who would you rather have, Kraft, Belichick or Brady? All of them are great but I'd choose the QB every time.

I forget, how many rings does Skip have?

Dude just because they call you "the skipper" and you have the open collar with blazer look, doesn't mean you get on that boat :)

Skip Bayless once said on Tebow would take Bradys job when the Pats signed him, the guy is getting desperate for ratings now since he's getting under 100,000 a show so only expect his takes to get crazier.

Want to hear something even crazier? Skip Bayless's 4 year contract with Fox is $5.5M/year with a $4M signing bonus. Belichick makes $7.5m/year.

That's right! Some former ESPN assclown who now works at Fox makes almost as much as the greatest coach of all time!

Yep, life's fair.

Belichick wasn't the person from the Pats organization who was pushing for Brady. If BB actually saw his potential before the draft he wouldn't have waited until the 6th round to take him.

Memory of Brady's first QB coach lives on

Belichick listened to his staff and made the selection. Since he wasn't exactly highly sought after, why draft him higher than needed?

Because everybody knows that any BB-initiated pick is a reach! Ask any draftnik.

Clearly BB could have gotten better value by letting him slip to the seventh or signing him as an UDFA.

(Of course, every pick is only a reach as measured against a bunch of sportswriters, not NFL scouts and coaching staffs. Any given pick could slip to the next team on the clock. But don't tell the draftniks. Ruins the fun of "this team can't draft" -- the second-best game to play as a Pats fan, after "who's calling these damn plays?????")

Interesting question but IMO you take the coach because he affects the whole team offense defense and special teams and a truly great motivator can get a team playing greater then the sum of its parts. QB is a close second don't get me wrong but if you play smart disciplined 60 mins of focused football you are gonna win a lot of games.

You haven't been following the Pats recent 2nd round draft picks have you? :D

Really, the convo can end here. Trying to determine which means more to the other is just silly to me. BB is not on the field and Brady is not coaching the team. Brady is the GOAT at what he does, and BB is the GOAT at what he does.
