The JimmyG pick(s)

Something we need to mention. Jimmy's value drops a lot next year. Not just cause that he would have to play under the franchise tag or an entirely new deal but the crop of QBs coming that year is light years ahead of this one. There will be a lot more second guessing if teams pass on some of those guys to get Jimmy. Some of them will be legit NFL starters.

You guys are some greedy gluttons...#12 and Cleveland's 2nd #33 = heist #12 and a Cleveland's 2nd 52 = heist #12 and Cleveland's 3rd 65 = heist. Any of those combinations are Huge returns for Jimmy G. If the Trade happens I truly hope Jimmy G puts Cleveland back on the NFL map.

2nd round certainly looks like a goldmine at the moment. Makes you forget about the first..

The haul of
ED/DL Harris/Basham/DeM Walker/Lawson etc. -
LB Reddick/Cunningham/Anderson/McMillan etc. -
CB/S D King/B Baker/M Williams/E Jackson etc.

while adding in the 3rd round whoever falls from
DL Jaleel Johnson/Tomlinson/Adams/Vanderdoes/Ogunjobi

yes, you'd be pretty much set

No kidding. You see one mock with a player taken 20th and think "that makes sense" Then see the next mock and he goes 50th and you think "that makes sense" and I mean that is the best way. This draft is loaded. That being said if i was picking 16th-24th I would be pulling my hair out trying to trade down but no one will want to give up a 2nd rounder this draft.

If we trade him to Cleveland and he is the real deal no one will care what they gave up. They have great draft picks every year and what did it get them?

I was just noting our Back-up QB history when they move on none have set the League on fire. Many Cleveland fans are very salty about a possible Jimmy G Trade.

Depends on the QB. We once traded a back up named Bledsoe and that worked out just fine for the Bills. I understand not all QB trades work out. It is a risk all fan bases need to take either with a pick or a trade. I think JG will work out somewhere.

I don't get this mindset at all.

We have traded two QBs. Bledsoe went for appropriate value and lived up to his deal. Cassel went out for a 2nd, lead the worst team in the league to the playoffs in two seasons.

I just don't understand the hate for Pats and their Qbs, as if we are fleecing teams left and right.

Fletch not my mind set at all its more of the talking heads that's the prevailing notion out there.

Of course (in a sense of draft capital) . but BB will not get nervous about it. He sees great value in keeping him as well..

I hear you, I have read it in so many different places. People bring up Mallett and Hoyer as warning signs, without realizing that both were released outright by the team. Hoyer wasn't even drafted by the team.

A little homework would be nice, but that might be asking a little too much for some teams fans and media.

Exactly.

The obvious thing here is what if Brady has a 3-4 week injury next year ? How much is little drop-off in your offensive production worth in the big scheme of things ? Just look at how close the race for HFA was this year. We kinda lucked out big time with Arizona missing a FG and the Texans totally ****ting the bed + having to play a short week game in Foxboro against Brissett.

Like many are saying.. Brady is not getting younger so having a good backup in place in case he needs to sit a few games is pretty valuable.

OTOH, by comparison, as a preseason rookie Garoppolo looked as good passing the ball as Cassel did late in 2008.

Mallett was traded for pocket change to the Texans; Hoyer was released outright. And neither of them ever played as well as Garoppolo did against the Cardinals and LOLphins.

2017 NFL Mock Draft: Trade Bonanza Causes Titanic League Shift

Am I the only one thinking this would be absolutely stupid to do. Love the player we would get but not worth it in capital.

Agreed. I'm the biggest Conley fan on the board, so that pick made me happy at 32, but trading up into the top 10 for Foster seems ill advised. I'd rather stand pat and grab Reddick if we're going LB. Or take Barnett. Barnett + Conley in the first round would be inredible as far as I'm concerned.

I don't want to trade up. Think it would be ridiculous and can't see BB doing it. If we get the 12th we trade down. For another first this year and possibly a 4th next year. Then use that pick of reddick. If foster falls at 12 take him. Him and safety's are the ones I would be only comfortable taking that early.

I think Jimmy G ends up in Chicago and we get the 3rd overall pick.
Just a hunch. Reading the articles, already media push in Chicago
to get him. BB gets him out of AFC.

I agree on Chicago but I think it'll be their second rounder this year and first next year. I think they'll want to hold onto their 3rd pick - teams don't expect to pick that high and should look to take advantage -and I think with Jimmy G on board and a pretty good team overall that they'll be expecting to pick lower next year. I also think BB will feel happy about getting into the accumulating future draft capital mode again. And in this draft, picking 35 is like having two first rounders.

Another thought... Texans give us their 1st this year and hopkins..

Just so we can let him go at the end of the season because he will want crazy money at a position that we don't have an immediate need ?

He'd be on his fifth year option at around 8m. As good as Hopkins is there is no space on our offense for a WR on a market setting deal mostly because Brady spreads the ball around enough so no WR can ever be worth that crazy amount of money.
