Same boat. I never really cared one way or the other about the Cowboys, but now I kinda passively root for them, just because I know the same whiny losers that throw tantrums after every Patriots win are similarly affected by the Cowboys.

Guys if you go to the thread it is clear they are not serious, at least the original poster and most of the follow-ups. There may be a few duller knives in the drawer there who didn't get the joke, but the majority seem to be in on it.

I'd say it's 50/50, which is pretty sad.

But again, the hatred borne out of jealousy is so strong that they've got to find a way to rationalize it. I really don't care. When I go to visit the Pats HOF next time, I'll get to look at 5 shiny Lombardis.

They are not joking. They think the Patriots cheat. That's a constant throughout their forum.

They might be stretching the conspiracy stuff but they think the Pats are cheating.

That SDOT character is definitely serious and is obviously not the sharpest knife in a butter knife drawer.

Yeah a guy I work with, a really nice guy I respect, today said he thought the game was fixed because they kept saying the SB has never gone into OT at the beginning of the broadcast. I was like...are you F'ing kidding me? I pointed out the Edelman catch, other things that they couldn't have scripted. I think I may have convinced him.

He's not a jerk, or dumb. He's just so cynical about the NFL, the influence of $$ in sports (he's a HUGE basketball fan), and sick of the Patriots winning, I think it blinded his judgment.

It appeats that some of them genuinely believe that the nyjfl fixed the game for the Patriots.

Which is amazing. Have these people been on a 2 year drunken bender? Have they not seen what's been going on between the nyjfl and the Patriots? The Ravens/Grigson/Kensil frame job? The nyjfl putting out false information and then refusing to correct it? The Wells independent...errr...not so independent report? goodell's ridiculous penalty, and then himself arbitrating the penalty? The tens of millions of dollars spent in litigation? goodell lying and lying and lying in order to try to make the punishment stick?

And now, after all that goodell and the other 31 have done to go after the Patriots, they're suddenly going to risk their entire money-making business and everything they have to give the Patriots a championship?

Uhhh.......ok?

Six Steeler Superbowl titles is irrelevant. Only two of them came in the salary cap era. Not even remotely comparable to what the Patriots have accomplished with the same coach/QB. Nor does it compare to overall titles. If you count all franchise titles (before the merger) several teams are ahead of them. Including the Packers who have more than double the titles they have at 13.

And for all the conspiracy loons their team's Superbowl win against the Seahawks was far more controversial. So if they want to talk about insane conspiracy theories they should start there. It's amazing to me that people can advance these theories with a straight face. The number of people that would have to be involved in something like that, the sheer number of moving parts that would be necessary is incomprehensible. To suggest that any organization could pull something like that off, let alone one as incompetent as the NFL, without something leaking/coming out indicates a divorce from reality and/or and incredible lack of intelligence.
