Unless I get super happy with the offer, then just keep him, see what happens? (Sometimes I think that anyway) Two "twos"? Nah, roll the dice and keep him just in case if that is the offer. Let the offer become nuts by being willing to keep him...I see what you're saying, but not finding a QB will also cost you your job as a GM. For me it's a no risk no reward situation.
If they don't get a massive haul for him, then I would rather keep him as a backup for another year just in case.
If I'm the Bears and I believe Jimmy is a Franchise QB I'm selling the farm for him
- They already has a decent team and a fair amount of pieces in places. Unlike 49'ers who has a lot of work to do to put together a competitive team. Obviously they have holes to fill, but they are not what I would call a bad team.
- Jimmy is a local guy. That's good for PR. He is also - what shall we call it - marketable?
- He has no character concerns what so ever. He is soft spoken and I have never seen him say anything other that what you would want him to say, if you are a head coach of a NFL team
- Great skill set, shown he can play and win in the league, well schooled ect.
If I'm the bears I would send the no. 3. And I'd even add next years 1st rounder if that was what it would take.
#1
He would easily be the best QB in the draft right now.
Not that I think Cleveland would trade #1 for him. But with the skills he has shown in the NFL and if he was somehow in this draft, he would easily be the #1 pick.
If the Pats can get #12 for Jimmy, I would say take it and run.....
It'll never happen. Next question.
This year? Top half of the first round certainly. He's better than any of the jamokes coming out this year.Straight up question.
Jimmy G with his skillset right now.
where would he be realistically drafted if entering the draft?

Garappolo has started a total of 2 NFL games and has more Super Bowl rings than Brees and Rogers. Has the same amount of rings as Manning. Surely that will boost his value.
I'm not sure if this is considered a strong draft or not, I do know it's not a strong draft for quarterbacks but for the 1st pick, I don't
think that's going to happen. Possibly their 2nd number one pick and a 3rd or 4th rounder. Just not sure the Pats would do it.
Nothing is impossible, didn't the Vikings trade a number 1 last year for Bradford? I think Jimmy G is more valuable for Bradford.
would we not get a second rounder back anyway if JimmyG left in free agency. We may as well keep him if we dont get offered at least a 1st. Im in the camp that says he would be moat valueable player in the draft.. so one overall is his value.I hope they do not entertain any offers less than the value of a top 15 first rounder. A second rounder for who is likely for us the very best backup QB in the league on the cheap makes no sense. Especially when the GOAT will be 40 y/o.
Doesn't that make it more answerable. Guy has shown he can learn at an NFL franchise and is still in his mid twenties. Is he set for the next 10 years? certainly has a leg up on any rookieIMO it's sort of an unanswerable question, because training and experience is a huge part of Jimmy's "skillset." 3 years in the ultimate QB training academy matters -- and there's really nothing you can show playing for Eastern Illinois against SE Missouri State that compares with skills you've demonstrated against an NFL defense.
