Browns number ONE pick for JAG??

Still have a hard time imagining a 1st rounder, see something more like 2 seconds.. which would give us picks 32 & 33(2017) if we went with Cleveland...

A very attractive thing about Jimmy G for any team is he is still under contract, so if he poops the bed there is no long term contract to deal with..

Would be awesome but not happening, not even the Browns are that dumb. However I could see JG for their #12 pick, fair trade.

There's a NY team with #6 that needs a QB. :D

I saw someone suggest both Cleveland's 2's (33 & 51) and a conditional 3 next year. Didn't sound unreasonable at first glance.

Straight up question.
Jimmy G with his skillset right now.
where would he be realistically drafted if entering the draft?

the question is, is SF seriously interested in a trade for Cousins? and does that help or hurt the trade value for JG?

gotta think the 2 for cousins sets a pretty similar bar for JG, but it also removes a potential landing spot

Actually that would make the Redskins a logical landing spot.Washington has the second pick and they trade their other 1st and second for Jimmy G.

The reality is a departed Kirk Cousins means no QB on their roster.

BB and Jay Gruden seem to be friendly. Notice we only seem to joint practice with friends.

If I'm the Bears and I believe Jimmy is a Franchise QB I'm selling the farm for him

- They already has a decent team and a fair amount of pieces in places. Unlike 49'ers who has a lot of work to do to put together a competitive team. Obviously they have holes to fill, but they are not what I would call a bad team.

- Jimmy is a local guy. That's good for PR. He is also - what shall we call it - marketable?

- He has no character concerns what so ever. He is soft spoken and I have never seen him say anything other that what you would want him to say, if you are a head coach of a NFL team

- Great skill set, shown he can play and win in the league, well schooled ect.

If I'm the bears I would send the no. 3. And I'd even add next years 1st rounder if that was what it would take.

I don't get the 'The no 1 is unrealistic' thing. Either teams believe Jimmy is a franchise QB and if that's the case, then they should be willing to offer even more than the no 1. If they don't think he's a franchise QB, then don't waste your picks.

Franchise qb? like who? Who do you think his Nfl comparaison is

I'm not a big fan of comparisons. If I said I can see little bit a Rodgers in him with his mobility or that the way he carried himself, ran the offense and moved in the pocket reminded me a little bit of Brady, then it sounds like I'm saying he is those guys. Jimmy is Jimmy and there are no guarantees, but I do think he has the skillset to become a top 10 QB in this league in his own right.

Every team looking for a franchise QB will at some point take a leap of faith and invest in someone who is somewhat unproven. The Bradys, Rodgers, Ryans aren't for sale. I think the leap of faith is a lot smaller when it comes to Jimmy than it is when it comes to a rookie. And especially the rookies coming out this year.

hard to say, because he has NFL experience....he has only thrown >100 NFL passes, but he's practiced, he's broken down film, he's been involved in the game planning, he's learned how to live the NFL life.....that puts him ahead of every college QB right now

if you are looking to build, and want a young guy to build around, he's better than any option in the draft, even considering his contract status, that is clear

Can't wait to see how this plays out. The best pick on the draft is 32nd overall ! And with JG possibly adding to the fun, this Spring is gonna be very interesting.

Win. That is everything.

The problem with trading a top-5 pick for Garoppolo when you could just draft a QB is that you're going to have to pay him next year, and a deal like Osweiler is probably the minimum he's looking at unless he completely flames out. A rookie QB gives you 4 years of salary cap flexibility.

I expect he'll go to the Browns for both their 2nd rounders or something. Since the Browns have two 1sts, they probably won't balk at that price, and they have some young weapons in place for him.

Yes.
But if Cleveland could be baited to do it, next move would be to trade it for multiple lower first round picks (or mid 1st, high 2nd or whatever the fair value is). In effect this would be another middle finger to Goodell by getting our stolen picks back.
thing is though Myles Garret would be like another Willie McGinnest

Anyone know the last time (if ever) the #1 pick in the draft was traded for a player?

Brady is gonna be 40 by the first game of next season.. I wish Jimmy was under contract for 3 more years. I just have this gut feeling he is going to be a top 10 QB for many years to come.

From afar Brisset seems to have the attitude to succeed but does he have the talent?

But even if Brady falls off in the next 2 seasons I could suffer for a year or 2 knowing that Brady retires a Patriot and will go down as the best ever.

Giselle is asking him to retire.. o_O
Jimmy works fast like Brady. Brisset plays differently. The thing I have thought about watching Brisset is that he is good, but different. He is not a quick release guy, he is someone who will make plays with his feet and extend plays more frequently though. He could be like Big Ben.

It'll never happen. Next question.

I don't think that'll get it done.

Maybe not - but what would you say if CLE offered the 33rd and a future first ?

Just seems unlikely either way. CLE was trading away anything for picks so they value them...

I was thinking the same thing.

A 2017 2nd and a 2018 1st might seems reasonable as CLE will most likely have another Top 10 pick then.

I'm believing in the chatter regarding the interest other teams like SF and CHI have in him.

The bidding could get to the point that a team might consider doling out two firsts (2017 and 2018).

Insane...

I think the pats could get the number 1 pick. But I still feel like they should be attempting to get a wentz or goff like package. So something like a 1 and 3 or 4 this year. With a 1 next year then a 2 the year after. And no one better give me that last year of his rookie deal BS
