Initial thoughts after last night. We must keep Hightower and Malcolm Butler. I'd like to keep M. Bennett. But, he'll likely get more elsewhere. Same with Logan Ryan. Guessing Sheard is gone. I'd like to upgrade Blount. He was a non-factor in two Super Bowls. And, also in both losses at Denver. Runs wild on smaller teams. I'm going to try and talk Alan Branch into playing another year and extending D. Harmon. He said he'd like to stay. Same with M. Floyd.

1. Extend Hightower and Butler. I'm sure Seabass will retire and Dola will restructure. So, we'll have about 65m to play with. 2017 cap hit for both 15-17m??

2. Branch 1yr/5m, D. Harmon 3/15 and Floyd an incentive laden deal with a 1m base.

3. Trading Jimmy G to Arizona for their 1st.

Early Mock

1. Taco Charlton - DE - Michigan
1. H. Reddick - LB - Temple
2. D'Oonta Foreman - RB - Texas
3. Jake Butt - TE - Michigan
3. J. Johnson - DT - Iowa

Not ready for later rounds yet. I'm 5 weeks behind:)

Me too. I'm so far behind but I have a week off work next week so hopefully I'll get caught up somewhat. In truth, I'm waiting for free agency, the combine and visits so that I can target my scouting somewhat.

I agree with mostly everything you said. I especially agree on the blount part. I think he did well this season and I dont wanna cut short all he did this year , but i think we need a back with a little more burst to him. Im hoping BB puts some more value into finding a back that brady can depend on so he doesnt have to do it all on his own.

More seriously, that is an incredible mock. Top rate as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't complain at all if those were our first 5 picks.

Agreed. All fit our needs, all fit our style, all are around their draft position (as far as we can tell).

Foreman just seems so obvious right now, will be interesting if they see the value in a 2down back with a 2nd rounder.

Texas was much more interested in D'Onta's twin brother than him. Eventually, they offered him and he went there. But, that burn motivates him kinda like our qb.

He is a very interesting player to follow throughout the year. In the fall, he would've been undraftable.

Has a huge year and gets better each and every week, and seems to move in to the solid 3rd best position for rbs.

Then, a couple months pass, there isn't all that much tape out there, and now, he barely gets mentioned. I still think he's a 25-40 talent on the right team, but I am betting his lack of catches will make him much less valuable in today's NFL. I think that's weak, since his hands seem to be pretty soft, but I understand teams wanting to make sure with their top picks.

I see Jamal Lewis personally, as high of praise as that is.

Foreman's fumble rate puts me off. 1/56 career, 1/46 in 2017 I believe.

I see it as a correctable issue. He does what a lot of young backs do, trying to fight for more than what is actually there. And the more carries he got, the more funvalls occurred, which leads me to believe there was a combination of coaching and focus issues.

I think if you can work him in slowly with the combination of backs we have and coaching he would receive, the fumbles will drop.

I want a 1st rd DE.

Ninkovich is aging and saw his snaps decline.
Chris Long also over-30.
Jabaal Sheard will probably leave in Free Agency.

Nink and Long will be back, but we need a Rookie to groom behind them.

Also need a running back. Lagarette Blount looked terrible yesterday. Not just the Fumble. The entire game.

I like Kareem Hunt. Doesn't fumble often and has ideal size/speed.

We could use more explosion on offense. Someone like a Curtis Samuel. He can return punts and kicks, play running back or Wide receiver, use him on trick plays and end arounds. Dangerous with the ball in his hands.

Kareem hunt is really interesting, but we already have Samuel on our team. He's a james white clone.

I'm far behind. I just did a mock for the first time with FirstPick and I was blanking on a lot of guys.. Good thing I have a month until the combine.

Taking it easy with the names .. but Id really like to see they go for some quickness&speed on front 7.

Lack of speed almost costed Pats this SB. It was similar against Denver two times last year. Lots of suffering vs Bills etc. Zone scheme/outside running was a killer. Also slot coverage.

Losing CJ, Easley, Collins all in one year is a lot of quickness&speed esp. since Mingo couldn't enter D rotation. This should be seriously addressed this offseason IMHO..

ps
It seems most people here want to run TE hospital.
Lengel better seriously step up until SB LII

In terms of the 'do your job' doctrine, Hunt is a great fit. Doesn't fumble, doesn't drop the ball, one of the best blockers at the position. But I must admit, when I watched his tape I wasn't overly excited. Day three grade for me albeit early day three.

I would like to see them resign branch, butler and Blount.

I think they franchise Hightower.

The rest of the free agents probably walk.

I don't know why people want to resign Blount. He looked old at the end of the year and that will only happen more and earlier at this point.

I think he should hang it up and go out as a super bowl winner.

Cheap and known commodity... signing him to another low deal doesn't really hurt us and also doesn't affect the draft at all. Worst case he gets cut at the end of camp.
