Oh, man, I was laughing at Blank on the sidelines. There was a moment where his wife (I assume the woman standing next to him was his wife) was side-eyeing him and you could almost see the thought bubble over her head that said "Sh*t, he's REALLY pissed off. "

I thought it was hilarious.

Screw Blank. He opened his mouth during Deflategate.

Let him bleed (figure of speech of course)

Oh, the good ole' premature celebration. I don't think I ever did it, no matter how big my team was up. Still, it's devastating when it happens. I'm a big Mavs fan, and the 2006 finals comes to mind, when the Mavs had a 2-0 lead, and were up by like 13 points with 4-5 minutes left in Game 3.

Then it all went downhill fast (luckily though, 2011 brought some well-deserved redemption). Another example is the 2005 Champions League final. My team, Ac Milan had a 3-0 lead going into halftime, only to blow it in spectacular fashion during the second half.

But you guys also know the feeling, '86 world series, or the 2006 AFC Championship game. It's a cliche, but it's not over until it's really over, and some fans need to learn this the hard way.

From another thread on that forum.

"We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory "

Hahaha

Yepp. 2006 AFC championship hurt because we would've beat the Bears. 86 Red Sox will always be the worst. They lessened the pain by winning three in ten years though.

For Atlanta to put this in the rear view mirror, they need to win it all next year. Maybe year after too. Nonetheless, I truly feel bad for you. Your team is a class act and hopefully will be back.

My Cowboys-fan bro texted me after the game: OHMYGOD.

I can't blame them for getting ahead of themselves. They were about to win the first SB & were excited. It had no impact on the game.

If the roles were reversed and it happened to us...I can't imagine ugh. People bring up the 2006 AFC title game. We weren't up big going into the 4th. Plus the Patriots have now won two in three years. That's what Atlanta has to do. Remember the Bruins collapse in 2010? They won the cup the next year.

Of for sure, you guys would have murdered the 2006 Bears. Thanks, but I'm not a Falcons fan, but a Colts fan. Which might not be better to be honest, but it is definitely better for today. :D I don't know how I would get over this Super Bowl loss. Must be devastating from a psychological standpoint. I think even a 0-50 loss is better than that.

I just feel like Blank shouldn't have said anything considering the Falcon's cheating issues from 2013-14 with the crowd noise.

I was reading a bit there last night and this morning but they are seriously some sore losers. Reading their forum is making me feel less bad about how devastating that loss must be. Lots of blaming the refs and saying the league is rigged. ****ton of bandwagon jumping as well.

Screw them, Blank and every other team and its fans, except for the Saints.

living in GA as I do. My phone was blowing up around have time with texts of "game over" and "brady's crying". Needless to say, they didn't enjoy my responses after the game.

The rest of those threads are just as bad.

Mirror images of ours, except our gameday thread was huge in comparison... I love the board Ian makes available to all of us, and we're all entitled to our opinions, duh, and in a SB of COURSE we're all amped up

Just saying, for every ****y "this game is in the bag" over there, we had "this game is over, boo hoo" over here. (Okay a lot of them were "rookies" who Ross handled... but for a while there you'd have thought it was a 30 minute game)

Those guys sound like I sounded the year we lost to Indy in the AFCCG...

I got sick so I couldn't go out with friends. First half I was so happy (they're not Pats fans). Second half I was like "DUDE how can I be watching this ALONE!"

Thanks to the gameday thread it wasn't quite alone I guess - thanks to the board for giving us all a place to type-yell stuff. That's all Atlanta's fans were doing. They're a damn sight better than a lot of fan bases... respect to the Falcons, respect to their fans.
