Every time the Pats get to the SB I can't sleep the night before due to anxiety / tension....any suggestions?

I'm still awake. Watching the AFCC game again. Not really working - just getting me more fired up!

Bud, it's 08:45 am here and i still haven't gone to sleep due to anxiety and excitement.

Will probably sleep throughout the day due to exhaustion so i can skip counting the last 7-8 hours and wake up 1-2 hours before the start of the game.

I'm about to go to sleep. I won't have any trouble sleeping. Victory is ours. Righteousness will prevail!
GO PATS!

As for how to sleep. Just remember this game doesn't affect you. It's a positive or negative for them. This changes nothing in your life.

It'll be fine guys.

I wonder what kind of condition you be in had you not already had 6 previous times to calm you down.

Dublin Ireland
8am here. Awake since 4 am

I've never felt like this, i was very confident against the Eagles, arrogant against the Giants 2007, hopeful in 2011, relaxed in 2014.

Now with the chance for Brady and Belichick to become the undisputed GOATS and the Patriots 2001-2016 to become the best dynasty in NFL history + the 2 years of witch hunting...i feel the stakes have never been higher, not even in 2007 though i'm sure many will disagree.

Every time feels like the 1st time, getting ready like its the last time LETS GOOOO

Yeah, I fell asleep on my couch last night and woke up at 2:30am. Now I'm wide-awake and surfing the net. I just put on fresh pot of coffee. The night/day before a big game, especially a superbowl, I get a number of adrenaline rushes, and find it difficult to sleep for more than a couple hours.

I'll finish up some work-related stuff I need to do, then clean the rest of the living room, and get everything ready, then crash on my couch until 4pm or so. I have everything I need for the game, so no need to leave the house. :)

But yeah....... I'll be up for quite awhile now.

Well lets hope our squad doesent lose tommorow because thatll really stop me from sleeping. Oh god the thought:confused:

11:36 AM.. the butterflies are coming..

And next year will only be worse if we win the game tonight... chance for bookend dynasties ? A second opportunity to hear the legendary "3 out of 4, yes it's a dynasty"

Suggestion, remember that the anxiety/tension you feel is due to the thrill of the moment, and it is wanted and envied by the vast majority of enthusiastic football fans. Win or lose tonight, from Cleveland to Jet-land to Los Angeles to SF, millions of people who invested a lot of time, energy, money and emotion into following and rooting for a team, they were provided very few is any of the potent thrill (aka anxiety/tension) you're getting now. It's February and these millions are watching mundane reruns wondering that ad nauseum, mind numbing repeated question "can I mentally handle eating spaghetti again for dinner, or will this be the day spaghetti pushed me over the edge":).

It is almost a certain fact that one day you'll look back to remember this thrill(aka anxiety/tension) and realize the harsh reality that thrills like this are difficult to replicate. Enjoy this run while it lasts because it won't last.

I'm out running routes at 1am, pregame warmups lol.

I just woke up at 4am after 3 hours of sleep. Bug eyed right with nerves and anticipation for tonight. It's 4:40 as I type....I will be pacing around the house like a cat for the rest of the day.

Time for some hype videos I suppose..
