1. Why was he mostly wide open? Was that our O Scheme, their D scheme?
2. He bobbles his catches frequently when wide open, In close coverage those get dislodged but good D.
Anyway I am bored waiting for the SB so I though I would throw this out there.

I called this out in another thread. Lucky for us he was so wide open on every play. Let's hope he tightens up in the SB.
Eyeball test!!!Tightens up what? This thread is garbage, Hogan didn't have any issues all year long when he lead the league in average per reception. He had 1 game in a cold/wet environment where he had a slight issue.
Does he smell like cabbage?I noticed the bobbling as well and the first thing I thought of is I wonder if he has small hands.
Jesus H. Christ, that's some weak f###### sauce. Yeah, I'm worried to death about Hogan bobbling the ball.I have watched the AFCCG over and over all week. Two things struck me about Hogan over and over..

On the contrary, I would think lacrosse would train you to have VERY soft hands, but he's definitely been bobbling. Along with the agility, physical toughness and hand-eye coordination required to play the sport, I could see how a lacrosse player would make a good WR if he's fast enough. He was a college lacrosse player. In short, his hands really aren't that great. With that being said, he's done a great job all year long and I trust him to make plays when the ball comes his way next week.

I've been noticing how so many receivers in the league can't catch the ball cleanly. It's one of the biggest things that separates the elite wrs from good wrs.

I only noticed Hogan double catching in the AGCCG, and it was many of his catches indeed. But it isn't something that I ever noticed in the regular season. So I'll chalk it up to it being wet (you can't really see the rain on camera, but it as steadily falling) and the fact that I do believe he may have been surprised by how open he was a few times. Game plan or not, I don't think you expect to be that open that many times in the AFCCG. Who does that? Oh wait, the Steelers do EVERY TIME THEY PLAY THE PATRIOTS.
Also, Brady was zipping those passes as if he was throwing into right coverage. That arm liked super strong. Let's just hope we don't see that in the perfect conditions in HOU a week from today.
Brady was zinging them all over for sure. It was incredible to watch. The first completion from that game by TB12 gets picked off if thrown by any other QB. Even Rodgers. It was a laser.
Interestingly, how can NE repeatedly turn non- receivers into solid to damn near great NFL receivers, even corners, but can't develop a draftee to save their lives? The jury is still out on Mitchell, but he thankfully looks damn promising.I think the crazy thing here is that he's still learning some of the finer points of the position. He hasn't been a WR for that long yet, same with Edelman really. Which makes me hopeful that there may be room for improvement, because it certainly isn't a strength in either of their games. I agree with the original poster here that Hogan seems to have some issues with making clean catches, but it hasn't burned us in a major way yet and I hope that remains the case through Sunday.
