Father of Patriots’ QB Tom Brady rips NFL Commissioner Goodell over ‘Deflategate’ investigation

“....When it happens to your son, it’s a whole different context,” Brady said. “Or your daughter or any one of your kids and I think any parent kind of understands that. They’d rather take the slings and arrows in the heart than have their kids take it. For what the league did to him (Tom Brady) and what Roger Goodell constantly lied about is beyond reprehensible as far as I’m concerned.”

Brady Sr. went on to accuse Goodell of unfairly singling out Brady and the Patriots.

He went on a witch hunt and went in way over his head and had to lie his way out in numerous ways and the reality is that Tommy never got suspended for deflating footballs,” Brady Sr. said. “He got suspended because the court said that he could, Roger Goodell could do anything he wanted to do to any player for any reason whatsoever. That’s what happened. The NFL admitted they had no evidence on him.”

".......In a radio interview earlier this week, Goodell said that “it would be an honor” to pass the trophy to Brady and he also called the four-time Super Bowl champion a “surefire hall of famer.”

Brady Sr. echoes those sentiments.

“It should be an honor because somebody that has Roger Goodell’s ethics doesn’t belong on any stage that Tom Brady is on,” Brady said."

I support Brady Sr. 100% and am so glad to hear him say this, Goodall has been getting away with this BS for too long. People are starting to forget the crime he perpetrated on Brady's reputation, which can never be regained.
I hope Brady Sr. keeps speaking out and someday I would like to hear Tom tell us how he really feels about that Jag wad smearing him without a shred of evidence.

Don't worry Mr. Brady this ain't over yet.

It will drag on during the SB. It will spark back up after Brady retires. It will spark back up after BB retires. There'll be documentaries every so often.

Goodell will resign and it will spark it back up again.

Not only is TB Sr. spot on here...look at what he revealed exactly 356 days ago.

In an appearance on Tom E. Curran’s “Quick Slants” Podcast for CSNNE.com, Tom Brady Sr. revealed Friday that his son’s gym features a clock that is counting down to Super Bowl 51 (Super Bowl LI). Brady Sr. was discussing the role that passion plays in his son’s career and the lifestyle difference between someone who “plays football” and someone who is a “football player.” “Tommy is a football player,” Brady Sr. said. “This is not a July to January or February endeavor for him. He loves two-a-days that started for him a week ago that will be two-a-days from January 20 to the next February. “He has got a countdown clock in his gym that is now ticking to next year’s Super Bowl. It’s clicking, yes. And he’s still doing his two-a-days.

Guess where they'll be in 8 days?

Brady should completely ignore goodell's existence. Just take the trophy without even looking at or acknowledging goodell and pump it in the air.
He won't, as much as we'd love to see it. He'll be the bigger man by being gracious to Evildell.

Sometimes truths are diplomacies, sometimes diplomacies are truths, but truths and diplomacies frequently are distant entities.

I dislike Goodell and powerful automaton creatures of the media like him. However, the reality of the situation at this moment in time is poking the bear does not serve the best interest of Brady or BB. That's likely not a popular opinion but that is the frank and tangible reality. Nothing can be done to change the past chronology and effects of "Deflategate". Conversely, poking the bear has no advantage except a release of emotion.

What control/advantage can be gained/kept is what happens in the tomorrow. Like it or not (not) the bear has some influence over a number of things that can affect TB's and BB's success. So while I understand TB Senior's anger and emotion this doesn't help his son.

Sometimes justice is theater that doesn't see a climax until the final act/late in the show. Let's hope this is the case with Goodell and his lackeys, that their just desserts will be served one day. But for right now say nothing, shake his clammy hand when extended, focus on doing your job and for now let success do the talking. And one day when BB and TB are onto other things there will be plenty of time to let it fly without repercussion to their success.

Side note: the NFL's poignant and immediate desire for ratings. The NFL does have an opportunity to build up the theme of "Goodell and Brady face to face! What will happen?". That's the kind of story line that can drum up a moderate amount of extra viewers to keep watching past the game's end and/or if the Patriots have the game in hand well before the end of the fourth quarter. In that regard I'm really surprised the NFL exec office isn't using their media leverage mega-machine to play this up to the hilt. If they don't I'm guessing the bear's ego and echo chamber see better value in not 'tarnishing' the bear.

Definitely appreciate TB12 SR's openness. He's definitely correct. With that said, please be quiet until after the SB. This will only hurt the team ( Ala ticky tack calls at the SB, refs siding with Atlanta etc...).

Just watched this again and I must say, I would be honored to stand next to Mr. Brady IN PUBLIC, along with thousands of other HONEST,UPRIGHT MEN AND WOMEN and publicly call this repugnant blotch, this stain, this veritable oxygen thief Roger Goodell out. This will never end until this criminal megalomaniac is serving a long stretch in federal prison.

Freaking love it Joker! Nice find.

Gawd I'd love to see the Pats win, then Mr Brady lay Goodell out right on the field after the game!!!!!!!

I had to think about it a bit before I liked your post, but I quickly came to the conclusion that there was absolutely no downside whatsoever to Mr Brady laying out Roger Goodell.

Ross...please merge this thread with Shmessy's...I couldn't get the vid in his thread to work for me which is why I put this up. This story is way too important for EVERY real Patriots fan to miss the words Mr. Brady had for the Creepissioner.

As a parent it is hard to watch your child get attacked or be the victim of a witch-hunt but as straggler wrote, save poking the bear until after next Sunday when hopefully they win.
