Atlanta's defense depends on a fast pass rush with Vic Beasley and several others, as well as the blitz. Do the Pats dust off the Weiss playbook and bring back the screen pass ? White and Lewis are excellent pass catchers who can get yards after the catch, and screen passes are great against aggressive blitzers/pass rushers.

I remember the screen passes to Faulk and Dillon really were big plays against an aggressive pass rushing defense that the Eagles always used in the early 2000's. Big plays in SB XXXIX.

What's wrong with what Josh has been running? The Josh playbook beatthe Legion of the '85 Seahawks just two years ago.
Nothing wrong with the Josh playbook, but certain plays are very effective against defenses like Atlanta's. Plus seeing Rodgers get hammered and running for his life, screen passes serve 2 purposes, sucking in aggressive pass rushers, and it also keeps them from rushing as hard. Granted, the Pats have a better (or healthier) Oline than both GB and Seattle, but it's just a nice wrinkle I'd like to see added to the playbook to keep the pass rushers confused. Not saying we should scrap Josh's playbook.

I understand. Hope I didn't come across as snarky. I was just indirectly saying that I'm confident Josh will find a way to attack a defense that runs a somewhat similar scheme since he beat the original... one that was being compared to the '85 Bears prior to that game.

Personally, I think we see a lot of all three backs running the ball really. And if there's success, they'll keep going back to it and dare ATL to stop it. Josh has matured in his play calling, it seems, and doesn't have that same overreliance on Brady of the running game is working. We'll see.

Our playbook includes more screen passes than it did when BB gave it to Weis

Do people think that Lewis and White can have the same kind of production as Vereen in 2014?

I think maybe WR and TE screens, but I don't see that may RB screen passes happening.

White catches a TON of screens. 33 of his 60 catches were behind the line of scrimmage. That's more than anyone under weis

the falcons pass rush is no better than the pats......just sayin

Not sure. Good question.

Vereen had a monster SB.

I think White and D-Lew are capable of big games.

At 100%, D-Lew is a better player than Vereen. I think D-Lew is close to 100% but I don't think he has that 2015 juking going.

Vereen > White.

Vereen made some great catches in 2014 and I do think one of the backs is going to have to have a big day catching the ball as well as running it.

Its very possible.

In the SB SEA focused a ton of resources and energy on Gronk and because of that Vereen had his chances.

It'll be interesting to see how ATL plays White and D-Lew.

I think our pass catching RBs are going to tear into that defense. I also think Blount will get some big runs against this run defense as well. We can attack this defense from all fronts, not even mentioning the pass.

I think this game is a Blount type of game.

And it's the same defense.
