If we want WR help is it Mitchell or more Amendola. Those are the only options.
I humbly slightly kinda disagree. Obviously he's not ready to be the 3rd guy but often it takes adversity to accelerate the learning process.
With Mitchell shaking the rust off I still think that there’s an outside chance that he can be the 4th or more likely (because Danny is a damn good 4th) a red zone specialist if they dress 5.
I love Mitchell, even with his tough game on Sunday, but why can't both of them be active for the Big game? I mean deactivate someone else and give yourself more options offensively,,,
Not sure why you'd feel that way. He may be back next season. If the other 4 WRs are healthy, I think he'll be inactive on Sunday.I am really unsure what to make of him. Has all the potential in the world to be a possible #1 guy for us.. but I really don't think he will be with us anymore, I hope I'm wrong but I just can't see it sadly, would love to be proved wrong! Anyone seen any updates recently?
He was an insurance policy incase we didn't have Amendola/Mitchell or if anyone else got hurt. He probably won't be dressed for the Super Bowl, not enough time to get in sync.
Don't think you should be comparing Marty and Floyd. I think there's a really big difference between Marty bonding with Gronk during offseason workouts even before he was traded to the Pats (see: Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett share first impressions of each other) and Floyd getting popped for DUI and cut before the Pats grabbed him off waivers. Coming through that would subdue anyone (except maybe Johnny Football). Reports all emphasize how Floyd has been doing the right things, working hard, living minutes from the stadium, keeping his nose clean. Sounds like he completely bought into the Patriot Way, and it's pretty well known that includes not making a lot of noise about yourself. I'd view it as a positive that he is being serious and concentrating on his own business not the media's desire for hype.I don't know, I may be wrong but when I see his interviews he doesn't seems to be very excited, maybe he is shy, maybe he is embarrassed by this DUI situation, but he doesn't look like Marty B who bought into the program from day one.
Maybe he feels like he is not a part of this group who managed to get to the SB, and then he was inactive in the afccg, probably will be in the SB too. I'm not very optimistic, even if they reach a one year deal that probably is what will be on the table for him, I don't see BB committing a long contract with all the uncertainty around him.
But again, I may be wrong, it's just what I feel.
