Steelers board a place of bliss for me today

I think on PatsFans, dare I say it, we can be a little unreasonable after a loss, blame the refs, unfairly criticize one of our players or coaches, etc (this is magnafied in the game day thread). But that's to be expected because we are all very passionate.

But holy hell. I went to those Steelers boards and they are in full fledged melt downs. We weren't even close to that when we lost to Denver last year. They have completely lost touch with reality, lashing out blindly with no appeal to reason. The biggest thing, as people have said here, is that they don't understand why they lost. Someone there was complaining that because they have the best RB and best WR in the league, they should have won. It's like they have no understanding about how football works. They are completely unhinged.

Also their writing skills are bad even for an Internet forum. I don't go to other fan base message board often, I went to the cardinals earlier this year after we beat them, they weren't nearly as bad. Are Steelers fans just that nuts?

Such a dumb forum policy to not even allow other fans. Plus, when you get banned, the Steelers fans keep quoting your post and talking **** as if they got the last word and "owned" you, when in reality, you're entirely unable to respond. And of course, throwing around sexist and homophobic slurs AT opposing fans is completely acceptable there.

Just goes to show you, the average steeler fan is incapable of having an adult conversation without resorting to childish insults and tin foil theories - must suck for the good ones, who I'm sure are embarrassed by their idiotic behavior.

Good post from SteelerFury..

Laying in bed after the loss, going through it in my mind, I suddenly got the vision of the AB video in my head...AB and others in a different wing of the lockeroom, gooning, texting, facebooking, and yukking it up while Tomlin was addressing the team. Not really a big deal...right? Then I'm thinking...Bellicheck is likely at this moment addressing his team in victory. I'm sure that every single one of his players, coaches, and staff were down on one knee with both eyes pointed directly at him.
There are players coaches...and then there are players coaches.

I need everyones opinions on this, its long but please read

So the Steelers were going on and on about how they didn't uderstand how the Pats own them so hard every time. So I hit them with some knowledge, will be interesting to see their response. Here is my post:

My Response:

Nice explanation, but for opposing fans and haters it is much easier to understand and much more satisfying, to go with "the Pats cheat!" to explain their losses.

Was it The Steelers Fans? I got banned for a measured, thought-out, and non-inflammatory post as well, and this was BEFORE we killed them.

I have gone to many opposing teams' forums, just to read, not to post, and sadly too many of them are like that.

It seems like the PatsFans-like forums, where opposing fans are allowed to post intelligent discussion posts, are in the minority.

The ones that allow the sophomoric slurs are the worst.

While not trying to butter anyone up or get brownie points, PatsFans is really the class of NFL* discussion forums when you consider quality of football posts, how active the board is, and the willingness to welcome good posters from other fan bases.

Note- This does not apply to the game threads, of course, as those are an embarrassing dumpster fire of posts that is standard around the league.

Lmao, and it's Roethlisberger who is talking retirement.
Ben loves drawing attention to himself. He must have the record for being carted off the field with non-season ending injuries. I'm sure this is just another one of his ploys to get attention and have fans begging him to come back.

It would seem that people on that forum do not post anything over few sentences because one slightly longer post had the statement at the top saying "I know this is too long and most wont read the whole thing" and then people in the thread all saying how they didn't read it. That surprised me, given our plethora of long winded commenters.

Ben will probably get carted off after he makes his speech when he ultimately, gets inducted to the HOF.

This scene at the end of the clip always reminds me of Steeler fans......

Just got their ass kicked and they keep on yapping

Years ago I was semi-serious about a FPS game called Urban Terror (a mod for Quake III that had a strong Counterstrike + parkour game play).

I was good. Maybe "very good" on my best days, but no where near the elite guys.

It got so I couldn't pug. I was constantly accused of being a cheater. I had people stalking me from server to server to accuse me of cheating.

The Video Game Mentality. With some people, when they lose its not because their opponent put in hard work, time and are skilled. Its because they are cheating.

To quote the President of the United States, sad.

He's hired Favre as his "retirement" consultant.

He was prolly sipping on the sauce
All jokes aside, we found out Summerall was on the sauce shortly after he came out publicly about being an alcoholic after he became somewhat erratic, if memory serves. So you may not be far off the mark with Simms. There definitely was a time when he was better.

None of those Steeler fans are from Carnegie Mellon University? Maybe the CMU alumni are getting a life and the rest of the locals are Steeler fans.

SteelersDepot.com is surprisingly good and had some pretty good previews and breakdowns of the AFCCG. Quite sane comments, too.

Both Summerall and Simms were ex-Giants. Must be something about playing for that team.
