Brady Isn't As Good In AFC Championship Games As You Think He Is

FWIW, Aaron Rodgers NFCCG QB Rating = 55.4

That might change today with Atlanta's pass D being what it is.

I still like Atlanta in this one, though.

I don't disagree with what you're saying exactly. However, I find it funny how people want to look at the teams the pats played whenever the stats are bad, to put things into proper context...........but whenever the stats are great like when involving the patriots defense.............Then it doesn't matter. Just an observation.

And I will qualify my first post - the 'dumb' comment was directed to the premise of the article, not to you. It is a good article for discussion, so keep posting them.

When the commentary is "but they haven't played anybody" in order to downplay the statistic, then it is based on a hypothetical performance, specifically what might have happened had they played the perceived better team (about as useful as running a Madden simulation). The fact is you will never know because it never happened. Maybe the Pats play worse against that statistically better QB, or maybe they end the "what if" and prove the statistic is real. The question I would offer to the hypothetical is why they (these elite QBs) did not lead their teams to better records, and why did they have some miserable games during the season? Does that factor into the criticism of the Pats D?

When it involves actual game performance between two real teams, then it actually happened. There is no dispute about the performance or the defense it came against.

Mistakes on the field and poor performances should not be dismissed as irrelevant. But when a QB can make the plays to win despite the mistakes, then statistics take a back seat to the victory. For example, a QB could have a perfect rating and miss the only clutch throws needed, and lose as a result. In big games against elite defenses, very few QBs would see near perfect ratings. Reasonably, the defenses should limit the elite QB to some degree.

LOL You're seriously equating how long one has been on this site to how much of a fan they are?

Your post is par for the course anyway. Usual drivel.

It's a legit question. Right after the OP posted this thread, I nearly responded, but don't know him. Does his screen name seem odd? It could be interpreted as a paleface Washington Redskins fan of their WRs during the Gibbs era. Just saying.

Again, I hesitated to reply, but expected the Sparks to fly.

Mostly because he and BB have taken teams into the game that would have gone home were they other teams/coaches/QBs

Quite happy to have Mr Brady under center.
