The curse of the jumbo QB contract. Roster depth takes a backseat when QBs achieve record contracts.
It happened in NE when Brady finally got paid the bulk of his 1st big contract in '05 and '06. (down years for NE standards) Who were Brady's weapons those years?
Flacco, Wilson, Luck....just the latest "stars" that have forced a culling of their rosters. Life in the NFL.
A quality QB earning rookie dollars is the biggest X factor in the NFL.....except for BB and his all-seeing powers

Usually, I have at least some amount of sympathy for anyone in that situation, no matter the person.

In this case, I have none. I'm not proud to say it, but I have no sympathy for this man whatsoever.

Finally. Pagano should be next. He is great guy, but as a coach, he is simply not a difference maker at this point, certainly not with this roster.

Do we really know when his rosters have been some of the worst ever?

Plus, most importantly, they have a very, very talented QB, or at least he used to be before he was ruined by the Colt organization. I could see Luck turning his career around now if Irsay somehow stumbles into a good GM.

I could happen. Even Jerry Jones lucked into Dak Prescott. ;)
Luck had 31 TD's, 13 INT's, and over 4,000 yards last year.

Not sure what's broken with him. Considering how little talent he has around him, he didn't do too shabby last year.

Even with that, I think he's pretty mediocre. There are worse NFL coaches out there, though.

Hate to admit it, but I sure hope Irsay hires someone that's ends up being pretty incompetent. Because that team has a lot of cap space right now. Smart FA moves, and smart drafting could make that team become very relevant again.

Luck
Shoulder
Surgery

Anyone know how he got the job in the first place? He strikes me as another unqualified guy with no business being in that position in the first place, ala Goodell.

Not that I'm keeping score...and not that i'm wishing ill on any human ;)...but...

Grigson. Initiated Deflategate.
Out of work.

Mort. Broke Deflategate lies. Let them stand. Never apologized.
Struck with illness (from which, of course, we hope he makes a full recovery).

Luck "Salty" about Deflategate.
Offseason shoulder surgery on his throwing arm (from which, of course, we hope he makes a full recovery).

Brady. Falsely accused and wrongly punished for Deflategate.
Back in the AFCCG for the 11th time. Still married to a Supermodel. Still with a family net worth close to half a billion dollars.

To paraphrase, with deep respect for and no intent to trivialize his words, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:
"The arc of the NFL universe is long, but it bends towards Justice."

I honestly wonder if Irsay is like the Millionaire character in Charlie Chaplin's "City Light", making one set of decisions while drunk and the opposite decisions while sober.

I think Bobby Grier just retired. And both Tannebaum and Idzik are currently employed elsewhere.

Well I was thinking about 3 people with no understanding of football, finance, people management or the english language who are all currently in a coma.

Wait - when did Luck ever say anything remotely salty about deflategate? I only remember him saying stuff I could respect.

Luck was salty about the loss, and them getting whooped 45-7- not Deflategate.
