"While we wait — there's another clown — we're learning something: The problems at West 56th Street run deeper than the coach, deeper than the GM. The problems start at the top, with the ringmaster of this circus. I'd say Colts owner Jim Irsay is running this billion-dollar business by the seat of his pants, but that's not really fair."

"Dockers are sensible."

Doyel: Jim Irsay has turned Colts into a circus

You lost me at Greg Doyel.

**** him!!!!

Actually it was an accurate and well written lambasting of a completely dispicable person and his team. HOWEVER that doesn't negate Doyel's own dispicable actions, before, during ,and after deflategate. He has no problem lying about or misstating facts to improve his narrative. He has shown zero jounalistic ethics over a long period of time.

In the end he is a professional troll, with limitied writing skills that has a voice (job) for reasons I'll never figure out, and is a walking turd.

A drug addled silver spoon baby might not be maxing out his team's stability and promise?

Cue Claude Rains.

The Butt Fumble says "Hello".

WADR, not even close. That was just a foolish and sloppy act on the part of a couple of players (the RB and Sanchez). There have been many mishandled handoffs and silly fumbles over the decades. The fact that he ran into someone's backside is just a detail that adds a fourth grade humor component.

The "fake punt" formation was preconceived by several men who are paid to be the best in the world at what they do. It was worse than a clown show by design. I can't imagine the conversation that created it. "...and then we do this, and they do this, and touchdown!"

Correct. The Colts CHOSE to do that, Sanchez just Sanchezed.

The bumblepunt was designed to either get the Pats in a switch for too many men on defense or to get them to burn a timeout. Since it did neither they should have let the time run out for a 5 yard penalty, at which point it was no harm, negligible foul. The great eff up was having a snapper that didn't know not to snap the ball. The minor eff up was the weren't lined up correctly so it would be offsetting penalties at best.

Long story short: better coaching would have made the concept work to the point of non embarrassment.

I can't believe Grigson and Pagano are still employed.

Only Luck and Hilton are above average players are their position out of 5 years of Grigson draft picks and everyone can see Pagano is terrible at game management and coaching decisions.

The fact he tried to get Gruden and he's been sniffing around Peyton Manning for GM means he has zero confidence in them so why not just fire them and get the full blown search on?

How can you go around trying to get people to replace them and then just act like you believe in them when you can't get the coach you wanted.

Irsay isn't even in the same league (metaphorically) as Jerry Jones and Jerry Jones is about 15-20 years past his expiration date for usefulness.

For all of Jerry Jones' faults, he is a "self-made" businessman (who had some connections) who made himself a fortune. Then he bought the Cowboys and marketed the hell out of them and improved their (off-field) product and branding. He worked his butt off for his money and built much of the Cowboys' current image and value. Yes, he has shown himself to be unqualified as GM but he came from a football background so has some competent skills there (i.e. unfortunately for Cowboy fans he knows enough to be dangerous).

Jim Irsay is a "thanks, dad" drug-addled owner who never worked a day in his life and has shown no competencies at anything in life. If I were Jerry Jones I would be embarrassed to even have to associate with the likes of Irsay (and Woody Johnson).

Fortunately for Cowboys fans, Jerruh listens to his son Stephen, who saves the Cowboys when Jerruh wants to do something stupid like draft Johnny Manziel.

Stephen made him turn in the Zach Martin card instead.

Jerry Jones is just destined to end his life as a withered 90 year old guy with dementia with his son battling for his inheritance with Jerry's 30 year old hottie mistress/latest wife, isn't he?

John Elway's opinion is irrelevant here.

The Colts need to fix the OL. As Ringling Bros. proved, you need to have elephants for your circus to succeed.

Well, Barnum and Bailey needs to be replaced...........just saying

It's probably worse than him just disappearing, his drug addled behavior likely leads to him showing up and micromanaging for a few days, then going on a bender for a couple of weeks.

That way nobody has any idea about what's going on in the organization(or lack thereof).

It's fairly clear that it's well past time to move on from Grigson and Pagano and get a group in that can coach up Luck and see him fulfill his potential.

They went silent for two weeks - which is pretty much unprecedented around black monday, right? -, trying to find a new coach, and apparently no one even wanted the job. :D That's how sad the current state of the franchise is. I would personally blow the team the f up and build from scratch. Trade Luck, Hilton, and every talent on the team for picks and tank the next two years. It would be better for our talented players, and it would be better for the franchise. The current situation is clearly broken, and they are trying to patch it up every year.

As do thousands of folks my age living in Baltimore. I dislike the Ravens for the same reason, the city stole another city's spirit. two wrongs don't make it right, and leaving the same doesn't make it right.

Model - that's another owner that betrayed fans. For years opposed other teams like the Raiders move, then for the love of money moves the Browns to Baltimore to become the Ratbirds.

The Butt Fumble says "Hello".

The Butt Fumble, for all its majesty, was still just a relatively normal bad play - just this weekend we saw Wilson trip over his own (injury replacement) guard's feet for a safety. These things happen, and the Butt Fumble owes its immortality to a mix of hilarity and the matchup, not because it was actually a beyond-the-pale bad mistake.

The Colt's immortal failed punt is possibly the worst coaching decision the league has ever seen, starting from the fact that it was an illegal formation to begin with (and thus had no chance of success), moving on through the idea that the center could stop a normal rush (and thus, as a practical matter, also had no chance of success), and then being defended by the coach after the fact (showing he was somewhere below mindless tool). It may be equaled in the future, but never shall a worse-planned play occur.
