Globe headline: Texans "nearly pulled off" upset
Welcome to the post-truth world, sigh.
This is the Patriots standard. A game they were never trailing, was close at halftime but ultimately won by 18 is "almost an upset."

Patriots standard? Nope, it's a Globe standard. Add WEEI and their ilk to the mix. Only way to work against this **** (and it is ****) is to name and shame. I know it seems they have no shame, but if it has no subscribers or listeners they will cease to exist.

The Globe writer either needs to develop a wider vocabulary or turned the game off around halftime. Yes, the score did become uncomfortably close for a while, but the Pats were able to make the needed adjustments and this resulted in the improvements necessary, not only for winning, but for covering the spread.

The game wasn't anywhere near being done for the Pats at halftime!

Yep, in a parallel universe the Pats lost that game last night. So lucky to be living in this one.

The Houston Texans hit Tom Brady repeatedly and nearly pulled off a historic upset. bos.gl/sUlsH7l #Patriots

Lol wut?
to be fair that's what the narrative around the game from most media is, it sells better than saying "Pats cover the spread despite the offense not playing well"

The New England Patriots dropped several potential interceptions and finally put Steve Grogan in the game and nearly pulled off a historic upset in Super Bowl XX.
I was going to mention that game too.

If the Texans actually had a competent QB, who knows. I knew that DEF was good, but hard to judge in the AFC South on how good they actually were.
At this point in time, there are only a few worthy QB's.

I would like to meet CHB just so I can ask him what it's like to go through life as an insufferable douchebag.
You could ask him if he was born a douche bag or did he have to work at it.

When he approaches me for a Q&A in the next year or so, my response:

"F*ck you, Dan."

...picked that one up from BB himself.

Globe headline from 12/19/76:

"Penalties (and Raiders) End Patriots' Season"

Reality: Officials (for Raiders) End Patriots' Season

News flash. One playoff team could have won if they scored 20 more points.

I live in North Carolina, almost near Morrissey Blvd.

Almost an upset if you took Houston with the 16 point spread.

Yes, the game looked sloppy for what we expect from the Patriots but we won by more points than Atlanta.
To be fair, Atlanta was playing a much better team.

To be equally fair, the #1 rated offense was playing a good defense.

A good offense (rated #5) was playing the #1 defense.

And who said it had to be fair :D.
