Who will win?

Who do you want to win?

Select two from the poll.

I think Pittsburgh wins. KC is the tougher match-up for the Pats but they can't stop the run and Bell is running like a man possessed. I think they win a close one at Arrowhead but I hope it's a very physical affair.

Whichever team wins, you can be sure most Patriots fans will grumble that they almost got an easier opponent (that is, if the Patriots beat the Texans.)

Pittsburgh has the far better QB so I think they will win. When in doubt pick the team with the better player under center.

far better, as of at this stage of their careers, is giving ben too much credit

ben has better weapons right now, but their 2017 numbers are comparable

ben has more experience in these types of games, sure....but in terms of 2017 QB play, I don't know if the gap is as large as you perceive

that being said, I'd rather FACE an alex smith led team lol

There are definitely pros and cons.........

I think most of us view Ben as the better QB becasue he is more of a playmaker while Alex Smith is a game manager.

Of course, Ben will make more mistakes than Alex Smith too. I'm calling him a 'game manager' but he has excelled in that role and shouldn't take it as an insult.

This is a tricky one in trying to figure out who'd I rather see the Pats play.

The Pats have historically had a lot of success against Pittsburgh, but their trio of Brown/Bell/Ben are top quality.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, worry me because they are one of those 'death by a thousand cuts' team that could go on long drives and kill the clock. With limited drives it's a crapshoot with who wins.

Of course it would be the AFC Championship game so you shouldn't expect a 'gimmee' opponent like we had in the Colts in 2014.

With the kind of defense that we run (Cover-2 soft zone) that tries to eliminate the big play, we would want the opposing QB to try to piece together several, short plays without making mistakes.

I'm curious who you think would be the more challenging matchup?

My guess would be Pittsburgh, but as you pointed out, the Chiefs are pretty methodical with their drives. They also have one of the best TE in the game in Travis Kelce and an explosive weapon in Tyreek Hill.

I just want the patriots to win this weekend. Without that , it wont matter who wins the other matchup.

I don't care.......cuz the pats are

I think K.C. will pull this one out.

I don't want to play either one of them--forget any history we may have with either.

I will say that I prefer K.C. in bad weather.

I picked KC for both. I think Arrowhead is an incredibly hard place to play, and KC is a much harder team to beat there, than in Foxboro. This for me translates into KC will beat the Steelers then come to Gillette to play, where hopefully Andy Reid will bring his funky sense of glockenspeil and go down in flames once again. But we've got to take care of business against Houston first!

As long as Andy Reid holds the clipboard, I just cannot take KC seriously in a big game. I'm picking the Steelers to win due to some bad clock management at the end of the game by Reid. I want KC to win and face the Pats for the same reason.

Boy, thanks for reminding me of this. I think you might be right. Reid is like a great coach who isn't all that determined to win games... like being superb is better than actually winning. Maybe's he's too good-natured. And he never seems to feel the pressure the game presents him

Rather face KC.

Seeing how badly Pitt beat KC earlier in the year I expect a little payback in Arrowhead. 24-23

Pittsburg and Pittsburg. Their offense is hitting on all cylinders, KC's run defense is average at best and I think Pittsburg puts up serious points against them. It'll be a tight game, imo, and Arrowhead is never an easy place to play for a visiting team, but I'm taking the experienced, elite QB with his All Pro WR and RB over KC's mish-mash of weapons.

And who I WANT to win: Pittsburg. They're more entertaining, and frankly I don't think either team comes to Foxboro and beats that Patriots so I'd rather see NE face the best possible opponent. Ben, Brown and Bell are as fun to watch as any offense in football, it'd be a fun matchup. And frankly, with the Pats improved run D and Butler matching up with Brown I think NE would quiet there offense, and the Steelers D isn't stopping Brady and Co.

Really don't give a crap who the Pats will play. Pats win either way. Pitt probably wins at kc.

Seriously the only team that would be a serious threat was Seattle-IF they could run and IF they still had Thomas.

They have neither so the only way Pats don't win the SB is major key injuries.

Consider this: Pats have hands-down the best D in the playoffs; offense as good as anyones- only atl and pitt are comparable- and atl d sucks pitt mediocre. Dallas O is a notch below due to passing game / rook qb not as good as the above 3; and their D is mediocre.

Bottom line- Pats fans should be more confident now than any time in history- incl 2007.

Can't wait for goodell to hand trophy to TB12.

I think the Chiefs may be the more challenging matchup even though Pittsburgh has more star power.

The Chiefs will dink and dunk as they march down the field and potentially drive us crazy.

I suppose a self bias though is that I hate Pittsburgh so the thought of them advancing to the AFC Championship game doesn't sit well with me, even if they would be a better matchup.
