Hi everyone,
Not sure if this is the right place for something of this nature (Mods feel free to move if necessary)

I wanted to let everyone know that on Monday, April 17, 2017 I will be running in the 121st Boston Marathon for The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation team in honor of my uncle, Chris DiBello.

Uncle Chris, who unexpectedly passed away due to complications from a stroke in the fall of 2016, was a tremendous father, husband, and role model for all that he knew. He was the one of the first people that welcomed me to the very large family of my wife and I'll never forget that. Chris was a Patriots season-ticket holder for the past 20 years and we shared that love of the Patriots and many other activities. He would always get on my case about running the marathon (since I was a collegiate track athlete) so I thought that this would be a great way to honor him and raise money at the same time! I've set a goal for myself of $10,000 to be raised by the time I run and I'll need all the help I can get. I will be setting up several fundraising events to try and get to my goal and you'll definitely hear about my training progress!

Some of you may have been wondering… “Why are you running for the Patriots? They don’t need any money!” Well, I’m running for the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation! The Foundation donates money to MANY different organizations and volunteers throughout New England and also holds a ton of charitable events featuring the players during the year. The money raised by the Boston Marathon team specifically goes to the Myra Kraft Community MVP Awards which are given to 26 amazing volunteer organizations & individuals from around New England.

Here is the link to my page where you can donate and read more about the team. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated.

Also, if you do not want to make a donation online you can send a check (or cash) to me and make it out to the "New England Patriots Charitable Foundation" and I will make sure that it gets to the charity and receive credit. Just shoot me a PM and I can give you further information.

Thank you VERY much for your consideration and GO PATRIOTS!:)

This might get stickied.

Have a great run. Enjoy the crowd as much as you can. Nothing like it.

I did this with a friend for the Brain Tumor Society about 10 years ago. It was 60 degrees when the race started and by the time we got to the Citgo sign it was 40 degrees with a below freezing windchill temperature. My friend (brain tumor survivor) wound up with hypothermia. Still a great time.

Off to donate!

Hey, just saw you messaged me regarding this. I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. You're right that this is a really great way to honor him, I hope it all goes great for you!

I'll sticky this right away.

Sorry to hear about your Uncle.

Have a great run and thanks for your efforts to help the community.

Thanks everyone. Appreciate the support! Maybe I'll run with a PatsFans.com temporary tattoo...

@Walpole Pats Fan,

This is an honor to run in the oldest marathon - the one that other marathons state their legitimacy by saying 'BQ' (Boston Qualifier) and for the Patriots. Would love to run in this one, but I have run other marathons with cancer survivors, and you just say: "Wow!"

Just a thought but is it better to let something like this hand around on the main board and then sticky it when it drifts onto the second page?

I had similar thoughts, but I would rather keep it up top than have it drifting around.

Sorry about your loss, love that you have chosen to honor him this way!

Sorry for your loss. Great post and good luck! I'll be watching for your time. As a wannabe, I ran a treadmill for one mile to gauge my marathon time. Holy Sheet!

Thanks to everyone that has supported me so far!

My run this past Saturday was a bit cold at 13 degrees (Out & back route from the Under Armour store on Boylston St.) before the snow started, but well worth it and felt great. Wore my Bruschi jersey!

No, I didn't buy any TB12 pajamas, but UA was definitely pushing them!

A huge thank you to everyone that was at the AFC Championship last night! That was the loudest I can ever remember hearing Gillette on TV and going through the post game threads that was definitely true in person. I'm sure my uncle was there in spirit with a huge grin at how loud it was! Not mention the great chants that were clear as day on TV!

I'm still in a bit of shock from last night, but I've got to say I had faith the entire game that it would work out in the Patriots favor. I know my uncle is smiling down and ecstatic that the Patriots and Brady pulled off another epic come from behind victory.

This one being the greatest comeback of all time!

Greater than the Red Sox comeback against the Yankees in the ALCS!

Yesterday was also my Gramma's 90th birthday so there was no way they were losing!

I'm currently just about to crack the $7,500 mark!

If possible, I would greatly appreciate any donations to the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation to help me get over that hump!

No Days Off, No Days Off, No Days Off! ~ SB LI Champion, Coach Belichick

Hey everyone,
I'm now $92 away from $7,500 raised for the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation! Who can help get me over the $7,500 hump?! I got my long run in this afternoon while the snow was kicking in and it was a fun one.

My ultimate goal is $10,000 raised by the time the gun goes off for the Boston Marathon on April 17. Every dollar helps and anything is appreciated!

Blizzard today. Better get in a soft 30K:D.

You're over $7500. 9 weeks out...time to kick it up a notch.

It's getting down to crunch time! There are only six weeks left before the Boston Marathon! This past Saturday, we cruised through 17 miles from Natick to Boston dressed as Superheros of all kinds for many amazing charities. Seeing all of the different charities out there together gave me a great appreciation for the missions & causes of each organization. To be a part of this amazing group of people is something I'll never forget. One of the reasons I love the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation is that it donates to many different organizations and individuals who normally wouldn't receive recognition and that run reinforced my love for all of the charities and causes out there.

In preparation for the Superhero 17, I held a quick vote to see what my costume would be...no costume was off limits. It was a close battle between me dressing up as a giant baby(thanks to my friends) or The Flash. Luckily, my nephew has great taste in superheros and broke the tie for me to be The Flash! I bought some bright red Under Armour and conveniently UA also has a superhero line of shirts. If you were out on the marathon course last Saturday I was "that guy" in all red spandex! I was glad that I got to be The Flash because my uncle(#32!) was the fastest running back in his day. I've heard countless stories of him blowing by defenders on the field in the blink of an eye so it was only fitting that I was dressed as The Flash. The picture below is me with a few of my running buddies (Gorilla = Heartbreak Bill).

I'm about $2,000 away from my goal and anything helps! See the think in my signature if you'd like to help me out!
See you on race day!
