OT: WFANs Mike Francesa thinks Romo to Denver is a done deal...

I'm born, raised in NH and live in MA but spent about 7 years during the week in the late 90s and early 2000s commuting to NYC for work. WFAN just grew on me.

I get the Francesa, Beningo, Roberts, Mad Dog hatred. I just like the format of the shows better. There just seems to be less ******** with those shows. IMO...
Oh, I agree with you there. It seems that it's all sports. No phony forays into pop culture, politics or any other BS. Before the internet, I used to listen to WFAN on the beach in Rhode Island on my transistor radio. A M signal came in clear as a bell.

Exactly. Its just sports. None of this Callahan/Minehan politics or Fauria sexual innuendos or stupid Big O frat house humor or Dooch and Spaz contrarian extremism with an agenda. Just sports.

Is it still the only 24 hour station for sports radio. Mike and the Mad Dog turned sports radio into what it is today

Except that's not what you said, is it @LightSkinSmurf. At this stage of his career, Romo is no better or worse than the Manning/Osweiler combination. You can also factor in that the Denver D is nowhere near as good as their Super Bowl winning D. So no, it's not stating the obvious.

Denver is a good team and they'll be a good team next season. How good, who knows how good the Patriots will be next season?

I said denver with a good QB could be scary. AKA, really good. That is what I said. Did I use the EXACT same wording, no, but it all means the same. How good the pats will be next season has nothing at all to do with my original comment. I was talking about denver and denver only. You give another team props/acknowledgement and insecure pats fans lose their minds. I also completely disagree with the statement in blue.

Denver with a good QB is a scary thought.

You ****ies. :p

I'm not concerned nor intimidated by any team in the NFL thanks to Brady & Belichick. Nothing scares me about Denver. They're a good side attempting to become better. They're going to need to just to get out of the division.

 Acknowledging that another team that already managed to win a SB just a year prior with no QB may be really good with a good one like romo isn't being a *****. Its stating the obvious.

Except you didn't and now you're attempting to change the premise of the discussion to more probable than not, generally aware ********.

In the preceding 2 years, Romo's played in 5 games and will be 37 in 2017. Glass and a spotty OL. Good luck with that.

I think elway is smart to go get romo. However, he also needs an o line an a couple of running backs to make sure romo works in Denver.

Anderson is fine, as is Booker. They worked well together as the 1-2 punch, Anderson more suited to the workhorse and Booker the dynamic, change of pace back (think Bernard/Hill in Cincy). The real issue as you (and many) have stated is the OL. That's got to be the Broncos #1 priority.

Do they have alot of cap space?

Give John Elway his due:
In acquiring top-shelf free agent talent, he is the Best NFL Executive to tight rope the Cap Space calculus. Get's an A + in that category.

You literally just quoted me saying that denver with a good QB could be scary two different times with the only difference being I left out the word "could" in one of the quotes lol. Ok ausbacker. Even though you are desperately trying to catch me in some kind of imaginary contradictory, it doesn't exist.

I'm not attempting to catch you in anything; you said one thing then attempted to change it to mean another. It's straightforward stuff comrade.

Except, I never changed anything. My point was always the same... but ok.

Yes.

27 or 37 million. That's what I read a week or go. Not going to bother to look up the exact number. And I don't know how much, if any, of that will be eaten up by their own free agents. But I'm betting the cap will not be an issue if they can work out a deal with Dallas. I do have a hard time believing that the Cowboys couldn't get a better offer from another team. And the Donkeys would still be in desperate need of a running game.

People keep getting suckered in to believe Denver is some great team that had an unfortunate season but nothing is further from the truth. They had exactly the same season as last year except they stopped getting those convenient and consistent cheap turnovers/mental ****ups. The reality is that they lucked into one of the flukiest SB titles of the last 20 years.

And at the center of the issue is their GM who hasn't managed to built a balanced team in over 5 years with the culmination being this year where he got sucked in by all those stupid media narratives about how supposedly historic the Denver D is and proclaimed in the preseason that they don't need a QB. Letting Malik Jackson go and providing no replacement created a situation where they can't stop the run and his unwillingness to boister the OL was the deathknell for that offense.

Romo will not fix any of the fundamental issues their team has and unless they get historically lucky in the draft I don't see how they can plug all those holes with those ~ 40m in cap space that they have. On paper those 40m sound like a nice amount of money but it can get eaten up pretty quickly..

I think Stephen Wright is hilarious! So is BB.

I like Francesca. Can't explain it.
Fair enough. I would agree most of our local "talent" is more juvenile than professional.

It's a personality thing for me but yes it is about professionalism

For example, I cannot stand EEI morning and midday. Even Lou now drives me nuts. But I do like Dale & Holley. Except for maybe Zo, I hate everyone on the Sports Hub. Hate.

Speaking of juvenile, I like Pete Sheppard. Again, no rational explanation. I ran into him at bar in the North End and he was a good dude.

Francesa is an ass but he's a pro unlike the yahoos up here

After getting a championship with an aging Manning I wouldn't put it past to the Broncos to think that Romo could be the answer to the another.

As others mentioned, though, he just can't stay healthy.

A QB with 11 seasons in the NFL and a record of 2-4 in playoff games. Sounds like a guy who should be playing for Marvin Lewis in Cincinnati.

Come on, we're better than Cowboys fans on this board.

Romo and Kyle Shanahan makes the most amount of sense although I hear the Miami DC has the job in the bag.

He's on NFL Sunday with Chris Price and Curran (sometimes). They do a really good job. It's a much better show this year than last year with Greg "FraidyCat" ****erson.
