OT: Tom Coughlin to Buffalo?????

Don't want to see this happen. Do not want good coaches in the AFCE.

This would be as smart a hire, as Rex Ryan was a dumb hire.

The Bills had an old coach previously in Marv Levy, and that worked out well.

Glad it isn't the Rats making this hire, but even if they did, they would still be owned by Woody Johnson.

I'm only concerned if he brings Spagnuolo with him as DC. It was Spags who devised the "pressure Brady" strategy that they used twice in Super Bowls and they won alot when he was DC ( '07 and '08) and now (15 and 16) While the defense was 'meh' last year, this year he has them 3rd best in points allowed, 3rd best in defensive 3rd down conversion and 7th best in least yards per play.....

It's all good, Roger has their back.

A 70-year-old's dream job, coming out of retirement to live and work in Buffalo.

Are you kidding me ?

You mean the Spagnuolo who has the honor of being the architect of the worst NFL defense in history as well as the third worse defense in NFL history ? He is the typical average NFL coach who can get good performances out of good players but can't coach anyone up..

Please..
I think your blaming the wrong guy for the Giants problems last year, assuming that's what your talking about

No I am not. I tried to be diplomatic in the previous post for objectivity sake, but in my personal opinion Spagnuolo is garbage.

You're entitled to that opinion. As a head coach he was garbage. I think he is a good coordinator though

I can't believe he would come out of retirement for this job.
Was it the awesome coaching that beat the Pats in both Super Bowls or the players talent? Did Coughlin run their draft too?

It's mostly talent that wins, but coaching matters too. And he would probably do better than jerry Reese, who is a bum

Hopefully Rex will win the last two games and keep his crappy job for another season. Having Rex in the division makes things interesting from an entertainment standpoint, while it can be almost guaranteed that his teams will underperform and remain undisciplined.

The hiring of Coughlin, if coupled with the signing of Romo at QB, would provide the Patriots with a more challenging test than anything they've faced from Buffalo in the past fifteen years. The Pats still win the division, however, and a Coughlin/Romo duo would not be designed for the long haul.

Huh. I don't see Coughlin's wife letting him take less than a 4-5 year contract.

Roger Goodell and John Mara can't like your post enough.

Do not want this to happen at all.

My exact thought when I read the title of this thread.

Nice adjuncts to the mythology, but the FACT is that in BOTH those losing superbowls, those great defenses didn't stop Tom Brady from leading go ahead drives deep into the 4th quarter. It took more than a little luck for those Giants teams to respond and win those games, but in any event, the offense had done their jobs in both games. They left the field with their team ahead needing the defense to make ONE stop to win the game

The last part of my comment was in reference to Coughlin's and Romo's respective ages, not the length of any contract either might sign.

Division got a bit more challenging coaching wise...

And if we had better Defenses coupled with butter fingers drop we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I assume your referring to Mr Samuel and Mr Welker?

With his affection for wind burn you would think he would try Chicago.
