Do we want Steelers out of playoffs?

Baltimore could still win out and capture the division. Steelers as 6th seed against Baltimore as the 3rd seed would be a fun game to watch in the playoffs.

If we secure the #1 seed, I have a feeling that we'll be meeting Oakland and KC in the playoffs.

Don't want to face the Steelers with Bell and Ben on their games.

Steelers at the moment are the one team that makes me most nervous in regards to potential playoff matchups. Bell is a matchup nightmare, and the Patriots have had issues covering running backs on passing plays.

I frankly hope the AFC South winner loses it's first playoff game, so the 2 seed is not handed a layup. (unless we are the 2 seed of course)

But if the 3 seed beats the 6th, the AFC South winner would play the 1 seed if advancing (which hopefully would be us).

i think the playoffs, teams with the best Qbs are the biggest challenges and i think big ben is the best after brady. So yes, it would be good to avoid them. having said that, i think they will blow out the ravens in two weeks.

If Baltimore wins out they will win their division. The Steelers or Dolphins could be 6th seed (If 6th seed advances #1 seed gets them in Divisional) If at 13-2 we have the 1 seed clinched, do we consider resting eveyone and not going all out against Miami? (Not trying to lose, but not too upset if we don't win)

If Pittsburgh is the number 6 seed, I see them advancing, so they would be our first play off game assuming we get the 1 seed. Just asking your thoughts... I normally hate thinking about losing to adjust your opponents, but I would not want to see them in the Divisional.

I know there are other possibilites happening in reality, I understand that, BUT if this was the situation... (we have the 1 seed at 13-2, we beat Dolphins, Pitt gets in at 6, or we lose, Dolphins get in at 6.) What do you think?
if pitt is the #6 seed then that means that they lost twice 2 balt and then would play them again in the 1st round of the play-offs. If they couldn't beat balt at home in week 16, what makes you think they would beat them in balt in the play-offs?

no they wouldn't. The 3 seed can't play the 1 seed until AFCCG.

I have no idea. I am just presenting a scenario, and wondering what people think. I know right now. two things.. ( I think anyway) 1.) I really want HFA. and 2.) I would rather avoid the Steelers at this point. It's just my thinking at this point. Historically we have no issues with them.

There's not a single team in the league that I would want NE to avoid. NE is by far the most complete team in the NFL and matches up well with just about anybody. If they play up to their level, and they don't sustain anymore key injuries, there's absolutely no reason they can't win #5.

All I want for Christmas is #1 seed..... I don't give a **** who comes to play here. Just give me HFA throughout. We'll eat them all, with or without salt. Bring 'em b1tches!

The Steelers are cheaters and deflate footballs. Eli said so.

The Patriots, on the other hand, command the laws of nature and let the Ideal Gas Law do their dirty work.

My money is always on the side of the Masters of the Universe. Bring 'em on.

If the Patriots secure the #1 seed and HFA for the playoffs I really don't fear any team over any other.... "It is what it is"

I think that's what he meant. If the steelers are the 3rd seed and they win their game than we wouldn't see them until the afc championship game. I think the chiefs can beat the steelers in the divisional round. I want the top seed. We need bennett healthy along with the secondary.

I think you misread my post as I said the AFC South winner (which I think the general consensus is they would be the 4th seed) would play the 1 seed.

I rather face the Steelers than KC I tell you that much, KC is scary good on defense and they are turnover machine, their offense is serviceable and can score well. Overall they are probably the most balanced team ATM.

Brady can score well vs the Steelers D, but I'm more concerned about the Steelers offense with a healthy Ben and Brown and of course Bell...those three can wreck a havoc.

This year the AFC is the most competitive division. Oakland, Patriots, KC, Steelers, Ravens until they lost last night.

The NFC only has Seattle and Dallas, GB has been shady all year and the Vikings got that 5 win fluke and ever since they looked awful.

Pretty sure we lock up the top seed with a win this week against the Broncos, or at least so says Florio and PFT.
