I blamed Welker for Superbowl 46 and his drop vs the ravens in the 2012 AFC championship game.

years Later I have moved pats that i wish wes could got a ring he went 0-3 in superbowls.

i think edeleman is a little bit tougher.

but I think wes was the better overall player.

what do you guys think?

Both are tough as nails. I call it a tie.

I gotta go Jules hes more explosove tough better returner and blocker.
Funnier guy too.
Welker had him beat in the hands department and he really helped Edelman mold his game.
I will forever be thankful and appreciative of Wes Welker.
His feet comments about Ryan were tops BB should of never benched him for that.
Bennett can say whatever he wants but Welker couldnt stick up for his team in a comical way.
BB has either gotten soft or really had it out for Welker for some strange reason.
We may never know.

I've got no beef with Welker anymore. Yeah, I wish he would have hauled in that pass from SB46, and I was pissed he ran to the Donks, but he had a pretty amazing run here for six years.

I love Edelman and feel he has a stronger connection to the area and the fans. A lot of that is fueled by the ease of social media, which wasn't AS huge when Welker was here, but nonetheless, Jules has been quite the ambassador. He's more electric with the football in his hands, but Welker played almost every possible game.

Should Wes be in the Pats Hall of Fame? That's the real question...stats say yes...but there's still some resentment among fans. I have no idea how BB feels.

After the Welker/Patriots fall out the Patriots have put an emphasis on acquiring Slightly Bigger Receivers who have a Larger catch radius. That said Edelman or Amendola makes that catch! Love what Wes did for us in his stint and real sorry he didn't get a Ring same goes for Moss.

Welker was one hell of a receiver but, in the end, here is a GIF of how the two will be remembered by Pats fans...

Wes was a big reason we even got to those moments. He was one of the few players that showed up that cold day in Foxborough. He may have won SB MVP of 42 if other players had done their job.

I love Welker. I never need to forgive anyone that does not even know me anyway. But we win SB 46 if he catches the ball. I'm not sure one catch in the Balt AFCCG would have matter to the same extent as that one drop. It's always debated if it was a bad throw or if Brady was leading him away from the defensive back. The bottom line the catch was harder than people always say, but should have been made in that spot.

EDIT: If Brady put the ball where he did on purpose to protect Welker, he could have provided the same protection by keeping low to the gut or just like a crouching down catch... He would have been just as protected. That is why I think it was just a little bit of an errant pass personally.

I can't forgive Asante for dropping that easy INT.

I can't forgive Wes for dropping that very catchable pass.

Period.

The catch would have definitely been a hard one to make but the ball hit him in the hands. With no tomorrow and the Lombardi on the line, that was a catch he HAD to make. The defense completely ****ting the bed after that would not have mattered as the Giants would not have had enough time. Oh well.

You should probably get a life and/or more hobbies, then. Sports aren't that big of a deal.

damn, it still hurts to see/remember that drop :( ( drops the keyboard... walks away from desk...)

Yes he should be respected for what he did while here but no to the Pats HOF.

in reality the Defense did not entirely **** the bed. Giants made one really big play that frankly involved an awesome throw and excellent execution. A Field Goal would win the game for the Giants so that Pats basically let them score the TD once they were in FG range rather than run the clock. One big pass play made that last drive. The D had been strong the entire second half giving up only two field goals prior to that situation. Welker's drop, yes we would have won if he caught that. Take the Manningham play away, we probably still win, however all they needed was a FG so they still had plenty of time to get into range.
