The love for Cannon is now official.
Not on this board yet but we are coming around.

I expect Fleming to stay as well. Focus in FA & draft clearly on DL, LB, possibly CB.

Based on how Cannon has played this year, if we waited until the offseason he may have cost a fortune if he contains the AFC West pass rushers.

I hope he continues his stellar play vs. Miller, Houston, Mack, etc. He will be one of our most important players in the playoffs.

Well said beat me to it.:)

Whoever called this at the beginning of the season raise your hand.

I did say that with Scar back Cannon would have a good chance to play like he did at the end of the 2013 season when he replaced Vollmer. He played a very competent RT.

No way in hell I thought he would play at THIS level.

He might be their best OL right now.

The Scar factor lives on from Turn-style to Barrier Marcus Cannon that is.:)

Good stuff. If Mason can improve on his pass blocking a bit, and our younger guys continue to improve we should be in pretty great shape going forward on the O-line.

Solder's contract runs out at the end of next year, correct? Hoping they don't touch his contract and evaluate a possible better option.

Good timing and smart move from both sides.
When both sides win is always the best feeling.
Looking forward to a few more before 12/30 deadline.

  • Yates mentions that Cannon’s new contract is expected to be in the neighborhood of Mitchell Schwartz’s five-year, $33 million deal with the Chiefs that included $15 million guaranteed.

Before CB ... Ryan is back on track and Rowe is playing really well, i would bring a RG/C

I haven't heard of Cannon and didn't have reasons to complain, and that is a good thing.

Next need is at left tackle.

Solder throws some good Block in the Run Game and on Screens but his pass protection leaves a lot to be desired. If Brady didn't know Solders tendencies in pass protection he would be carted off already. Solder wouldn't be a LT on another Team. I wouldn't rule out a LT type in our next Draft for Solder down the road.

Solder's a mediocrity, no question, IMO. But he's not making big money next year, with most of it guaranteed ($6.5m plus small bonuses, $4.2m guaranteed), so my guess is that it's more likely they'll be looking to groom a LT for 2018 than they'll be looking for a 2017 replacement.

Overall happy to hear it but I am not a fan we are giving him 5 years based off 11 overall well played games. It is a risk and i would have liked a prove it deal next year just to see if he could do it back to back years.

Overall though that is one key spot down.

That's crazy. Solder is a pure tackle and a pure left tackle at that. He's been consistently excellent since he's been here. His loss last year devastated the team. Not to say we shouldn't draft a tackle, but Nate Solder is not a weak link on this team.

5 years could it be Cannon or could they just re-up Solder next year he won't cost too much I think.
