Heartbreaking Pats Losses

Honestly, that 2010 afc divisional loss to the jets was one of the most painful experiences as a fan I have felt. That season we were destined to win it all, we went on perhaps the most dominant stretch of football of Brady's career after week 6. Brady threw for 36 TD and only 4 INT on his way to the NFL MvP, we finished 14-2 a franchise record...

Most importantly the 4 teams that made it to the final four...we went 4-1 against them during the regular season including 45-3 and 36-7 thrashings, and a 39-26 bashing at Heinz field. We had a brutal schedule and went through it like a hot knife through butter.

The 2010 season had a 03-04 feel to it....and then we lost badly to our most hated rival. That loss is the reason Rex Ryan still has a job. LT to this day loves to rub that one in, that was his Super Bowl. He wouldn't shut up about it on "a football life".

That loss to this day remains the ONLY TIME in Belichick/Brady history that we lost our first playoff game after obtaining a first round bye.

Ouch..

Well actually we finished 14-2 in 2003 and 2004, 2010 wasn't the first time we finished 14-2

One of the most painful regular season losses for me was the 2009 "4th and 2 from our own 28 yard line" game against the Colts

That one seriously kept me up most of the night

In happier news, I just had my first colonoscopy. It was way more enjoyable than reliving some of these games

Last year vs Denver in the snow.

Almost killed myself with how crazy I drove home. I was furious.

**** those refs, **** the Broncos, **** the schedule for always making us play in Mile High whenever we play Denver in an important game.

Past 3 years we have played there 3 times, and now we've got them a 4th time in 4 years. I swear to god if we have to play a 5th time in Colorado this year, I'm gonna go ballistic.

I'm seriously tired of having to have my guys and their knees go up against T.J. Ward, and even more tired of watching guys struggle to play the game in that stadium because of the altitude. That is a seriously unfair advantage that Denver is afforded, and it always seems like they get their toughest games scheduled at home.

Actually in the regular season we played Denver in New England in 2012, 2013, and 2014

Ha just the other day out of the blue, my fiancé asks, "so when your apartment got broken into (4 years ago) what was taken again?"

My answer, "why would you possibly want to bring that up, it makes my blood boil thinking about it"

Thread reminded me of that haha

But in any case nothing will top the SB losses. The first one being brutal and the second was like
OMFG not again.

I mean, it had been over a decade since the Bears loss so it wasn't quite that bad.

heartbreak is not a term I recognize when it comes to this team and the last 15 or so years

Speaking for myself there are 2 different types of losses, frustrating/aggrevating and disappointing.

The loss that could have been the most aggrevating was losing to Denver in the 2005 divisional Round. Many frustrating plays in that game but for the franchise they lost opportunity to advance and give themselves an opportunity to win 3 SB's in a row. Winning back to back SB's is a tremendous accomplishment but winning 3 in a row...

Disappointing is easy, the loss in 42. I have never felt as low walking out of a sporting event. I've been to 3 SB's 2 of them the Pats won and walking out after the wins were great but leaving after that loss was devastating.

I'd rather stick my d*** in a woodchipper than re-watch or discuss any of the aforementioned losses

My thoughts exactly. No. Just No.

I actually rank the 2006 AFCCG above Superbowl 42 because while the stakes were higher in the second (Superbowl perfect season best team in history) at least we were legitimately outplayed and deserved to lose. The first half against paymeaton they completely dominated and put the game away...until the refs and super heating the dome against a flu ridden team allowed the clods back into it. That game hurts worse because at least the giants are an organization you can respect even if you hate them. The Colts and manning are weak whiny *****es who should never have won a SB
...did you just say "the giants are an organization you can respect even if you hate them."?

Time for you to brush up on your research.
