I'm sure we've done this before, but I think it would be fun to do it again.

1 )Tom Brady
2) Tom Brady
3)Dom Trady
4) Tom Brady
5) Brady Tomeson

All joking asde,

1) Tom Brady
2) Tedy Bruschi
3) Rob Gronkowski
4) Steve Grogan
5) Steve Nelson

Willie Mac, Russ Francis, Rodney Harrison just miss the cut on my top 5, but definitely in my top 10.

An excellent list! I just have to make a couple of changes, to come up with my top 5, with 3 honorable mentions...
1. Tom Brady
2. Steve Grogan
3. Tedy Bruschi
4. Rodney Harrison
5. Troy Brown

Next: Andre Tippett, Rob Gronkowski, Stanley Morgan (FYI, I started following the Patriots in 1981 - no one in my family is much of a sports fan, but the Patriots captured my attention one lazy Sunday afternoon while flipping the channels on the TV).

Oh Man, I can easily interchange order with players but both Number ones lead it off.

Pat Patriot:
1. Steve Grogan
2. Russ Francis
3. Stanley Morgan
4. Mike Haynes
5. Sam 'Bam' Cunningham

Flyin'Elvis:
1. Tom Brady
2. Ron Gronkowski
3. Adam Vinatieri
4. Troy Brown
5. Drew Bledsoe

Tom Brady
Troy Brown
Tedy Bruschi
Steve Grogan
John Hannah

1) Tom Brady
2) Tedy Bruschi
3) Vince Wilfork
4) Julian Edelman
5) Rob Gronkowski

Brady
Robert Weathers :D...(long story)
Clayton Weishuhn
Troy Brown
Rodney

As players

Brady
Hannah
Tippet
Morgan
Sugar bear

As people I spoken to
Larry McGrew
Willie
Ron Burton
Lippet
MOsi

For me personally my criteria to be a favorite is you had to play your entire career in NE.

Hannah
Tippett
Teddy Bruschi
Steve Nelson
Sugar Bear (Ray) Hamilton

When Brady, Vince and Gronk retire my list will change. Yes, I may have to alter my criteria for Vince.

Tough list, but I don't see how I could leave off the names of the four HOF'ers who either spent their entire careers with the Pats or whose greatest accomplishments came as Patriots:
Brady
Hannah
Tippett
Vinatieri (I know "he left," but there was no Dynasty without the snow bowl kick or the SB kicks)

After that, I have no idea whom to put as #5.

I never would have thought somebody else would have Weishuhn

I played pee-wee LB because of him. Memories are fleeting but the ones I have are him on every single play. Sideline to slideline. Standing up OLs. Chasing down ballcarriers. Always around the ball. Strong. Fast.

1983, he led the team with an incredible 229 total tackles...he averaged 14.3 stops per game in '83...also recorded 1 1/2 sacks, six QB pressures, three pass deflections and recovered three fumbles on the year...played a major role in a Patriots' defense that gave up the third fewest points of any defense in the league in '83 (289)...had a big day in Patriots' 28-23 win at Pittsburgh (9-25-83) when he took a lateral on a Steve Nelson interception 27 yards for a score...led team in snow and sleet in 7-0 win vs. New Orleans (12-4-83) with 21 total tackles...recorded 20 total tackles and one QB pressure vs. San Francisco (10-2-83)...enjoyed a banner rookie year as he started all nine regular season games and was the team's second leading tackler with 123 tackles (seven behind team leader Steve Nelson), recorded 1 1/2 QB sacks for -16 yards, one QB pressure, three pass deflections and recovered one fumble...named the 1776 Fan Club's Rookie of the Year and was selected to Pro Football Weekly's All-Rookie Team...was in on 12 tackles or more in every game but one in '82

1. Tom Brady
2. Mike Vrabel
3. Tedy Bruschi
4. Julian Edelman
5. Deion Branch

Tom Brady
Troy Brown
Tedy Bruschi
Julian Edelman
Deion Branch

Not necessarily the players I liked watching the most, but definitely my favorites for obvious reasons:

Tom Brady
Adam Vinitieri
Malcolm Butler
Ty Law
Deion Branch

Out of curiosity, why do people consistently select players in these lists? Surely Belichick needs to be considered? I love the guy especially given his contempt for the media. Watching a Patriots press conference with the stone cold look in his eyes, the dismissive grunts, the death stares... I can't help but PMSL.

BB is by far my fav. More than the top 10 players combined. But, since "players" is the word :

Brady
----------

Law
Willie
Vince
Gronk

Gotta go w SB players.

And with today's medicine he would have had a nice career

Most likely. I remember when he got hurt early in 84 and he had multiple surgeries afterwards but he always had a setback or something.

Damn shame.
