Brady Quinn has agreed to a five-year contact with the Cleveland Browns worth $20.2 million, with $7.75 million guaranteed, ending his holdout.

The deal could grow to $30 million over five years with incentives.

Seems to be much more reasonable that what Jamarcus Russell wants out in Oakland.

i hope revis doesn't get any bright ideas

his majesty is going to show up. amazing.

And in 2012 Football news Brady Quinn is cut from the Houston Texans ending his bid to rejoin the NFL after 3 years out of football.

I find it pretty amazing how people are crapping all over Quinn for wanting to have incentives and guarantees in his contract if/when he becomes the Browns starting QB. At least he didn't take the JaMarcus Russell route and try and get a 33% increase in guaranteed money over the guy from the same slot from last year.

The problem I have is he was drafted 22nd overall. He wants to be paid like a top 10 pick. IMO He was the most over-rated qb in college football. With all those weapons (walker, McKnight, Samarjza) they still couldn't beat the elite talent in college ball.

Yes, how dare that bastard use the Browns' own logic against them. After all, just because one of the Browns' arguments for trying to give their first #1 pick a lesser contract was because he's not a quarterback is no reason to expect that the Browns should therefore give a quarterback a premium on his contract afterwards, right? Why should logic and reason prevail when we can just vilify the kid for no good reason instead?

And how dare a player that so many here are calling a bust before he's ever thrown an official NFL pass hold out for as much money as possible? After all, that "bust" should wait for his second contract before getting the cash, right? Oh, wait, he's supposedly not good enough to get the big cash on that second contract.... Well, still, phooey on him!

I haven't called him a bust yet. time will tell.

If anything Russel will bust. I would rather have Brady Quinn than Jamarcus (sp?) Russel

Actually, from what I read, he wanted to be paid like the future starting QB that the Browns drafted him to be. In fact, my understanding on what I read was that it was the 3rd, 4th and 5th years of his deal that were the hold-up, not the initial 2 years.

Now, as for the over-hyping of the ND weapons, lets look at them. Walker? UDFA who has been released by 2 teams (1 at his request) so far. McKnight? A UDFA who was cut by the Saints and picked up by the Chargers. Samarjzda. Undrafted player who signed a 6 year deal with the Chicago Cubs.

Did you ever stop to think that MAYBE, just MAYBE, it was Quinn who elevated the game of those players mentioned? OH, and Notre Dame's defense wasn't exactly awe-inspiring. And, well, if a team isn't great at one aspect of the game, then they usually tend to lose when they go against teams that are more well rounded.

so if quinn elevated himself and his players in those games how come when Notre Dame (agreed D was terrible) could not execute against better opponents. They almost lost to Georgia Tech!

Secondly, most of the college football experts were saying how great the support staff was, (walker, McKnight etc) I just don't think Quinn will translate very well to the pros due to the fact he struggled mightly against LSU and Ohio State University.

Interesting theory. Hey, how did Peyton do against Florida when he was in college?

and how long did it take for Peyton to finally win the big one?

If Brady Quinn came from wherethehellisthat university he would have been happy to play for whatever the Browns offered him but since he came from a prestigious U like ND and Charlie Weis's boy he got ****y and wanted the sky.

I have said this once and I will say it again ..

Brady Quinn is today's lesser heralded version of Ryan Leaf IMO

Thank You!

Given that that answer has nothing to do with your argument, who cares? Peyton wasn't a bust prior to winning the Super Bowl.

at least Peyton played in a division that is the closest thing to the NFL as far as talent is concerned. You're the one who brought up how Peyton did versus Florida.

I wonder why:

I just don't think Quinn will translate very well to the pros due to the fact he struggled mightly against LSU and Ohio State University.

Hmmm....

I'd really love to know where you pull this garbage from. How do you figure that he wanted the SKY? He wanted the 3rd, 4th and 5th years of his contract to be reflective of where he and the team figured he would be, whichi is the starter. HOW the hell is that wanting the sky?

I'm going to be honest. I will take Charlie Weis' candid opinion on the kid over yours any day of the week.

Not to mention the fact that Brady is in a division with 2 of the NFL's top defenses

Can you imagine this golden boy going up 2 times a year
against the likes of Baltimores defense and Pittsburghs D as well - Troy Polamalu,Ed Reed ect: - One Word -OUCH!!
