***The official Week 1 OTHER GAMES thread***

I didn't see the game, but I understand from this thread there was a crappy non-call helmet hit? I also saw a gif of someone dancing getting a taunting call. Which looked like ******** to me.

I am so annoyed at the NFL I'm getting all news from this site, won't click NYJFL or BSPN sites any more, am not watching other games unless I'm at a party with friends. My love of the sport has been completely killed.

Anyone else feel that tonight? I just don't care, the only reason I cared about this game at all is because I wanted the Donkey suckers to lose because it might impact us. And I live in NC. So because of that I'm sad. Used to really look forward to the start of the season, no matter who was playing. I really loved the game. Now I just imagine Goodell and the owners and want them all to suck it..... Doesn't help that my uncle that I would talk football with passed away in the offseason, so it feels..empty now.

Sorry to be debbie downer. :( I'm just gonna step over here and jump off a bridge now. (not literally)

I can't say it was as good as last years though. Last years defense wouldn't have even let it come down to that.
I don't think that's possible.

But They held the panthers to 20 points(and 3 total in the second half) when their offense turned it over 3 times

Alot of saltiness here. I don't see how we win on sunday if we don't keep the cardinals under 28 points. Need to play like the denver offense and have a strong running game.

Broncos defense is just unbearable, I have such a strong dislike for them. Guys like TJ Ward, Darian Stewart, these guys are making a living out of themselves by launching themselves helmet first into players. They don't tackle properly, they just aim to use anyway possible to tackle a player. Disgusting players but the league will never do anything about it.

The Broncos defense was historically great last year. This year they are "only" good but I think the Pats D can be just as good.

I am even more dispointed that the Patriots didn't try to sign C.Anderson.

I would urge Newton to retire now. He won't be able to talk in 5 years the way it is going. I'm not kidding.

Having failed miserably to protect player health tonight, there will be fines and suspensions for the offenders right?

I highly doubt this game was the result of rigging. The Panthers were a mess tonight, especially their O line. Honestly, as close as they were to winning they didn't really show the kind of skill that could get through a defense like Denver's.

Why does everybody hate the Broncos again? They beat the Pats twice last year, yeah, but I don't hate them for it. They beat up on the Pats all through my childhood more times than not so really its nothing new to me. I think the Pats have the edge this time against them, so as far as Denver goes that's the only game I'm really worried about.
Who cares if they won their opener? That's usually what happens in the opener, defending champs win. I'm neither bothered nor elated by this turn of events. Would have been cool to see a rare occurence like that but Its to be expected.

There is nothing "salty" about 3 helmet to helmet hits being BLATLANTLY IGNORED by refs for the entire game. What will it take, a guy's head to pop open and his brain to ooze out of his ears for people to get it? This is ridiculous. They better shore this up for Sunday because it's a recipe for disaster.

Didn't watch the game, but from what I'm hearing, apparently there were multiple helmet-to-helmet hits on Cam that went unflagged, yet the guy who actually got the personal foul was some Panther for jumping up and down in place out of excitement?

Yup, sounds like the NFL.

Yeah...nothing to see here. Now go and calculate all your gaa gaa goony fantasy points. Great game!! See how close!! Drama!!! and of course, to ostrich head in the sand nation...nothing to see here.

Well, I'm an old time , SIX DECADE NFL fan and this game tonight was a friggin' MOCKERY...a disgrace to the the sport and to all sports.

It is worse than this. Newton was woosy. After the last hit which was flagged but offset, he lay motionless for a second or two. It is insane he was not pulled for a concussion test.
