I had to double check to see if this was a story from the Onion, but Sports Business Daily is a very legitimate site.

Sources: 49ers To Play Rams In Regular-Season Game In China

NFL VP of Communications back pedaled a bit, stating that “we have not announced the Rams’ opponent in the event we play a game there. We have said we are exploring playing a game there but nothing is definitive.”

Any China game would be subject to league approval at an NFL owners meeting in October.

It appears to me that the approval for the Rams to move to Los Angeles came with some strings attached: i.e., that the Rams host a regular season game in the Far East.

The 49ers will play the Rams in a regular-season game in China in '18, according to sources. It will most likely serve as the Rams' home opener, although no date has been determined, sources said. In March, reports surfaced that the NFL wants to expand its international presence to China and that the Rams were one team selected to play there. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell later confirmed multiple teams had shown interest in playing in China.

I don't care if the Patriots play on Mars as long as it's Sunday at 1:00.

"Greed is good".

Won't be long before all of our games are in China.

uh, 1:00 am okay? Because that's the time zone.
Nope. We both know those games will be played at times which will will be prime time in the USA. No ifs, ands or buts.

Well i am glad to see the US is exporting a product to China... I would not have picked football but.

Also just goes to show no one cares about the Rams.

Yahoo streamed an NFL game in London last year and it air at 6am in California.

I thought this was already a given beyond the selection of the actual teams.

Why not. We're outsourcing everything else there.

I'm talking about the Time Zone that has the most viewers: Eastern. Hell, no one in California watches any sports when they're prime time there. It's why Monday Night Football airs there when everyone is commuting home at 5:30 pm and here it's 8:30 pm when everyone is home, fed and right in front of their TVs. Oh, and 6:00 am isn't 1:00 am. The 6:00 west coast start you refer to is 9:00 am Eastern: Breakfast with the NFL with a full day of NFL to follow. No NFL game has ever started at 1:00 am in any US time zone and never will.

For a game to be broadcast at 1 pm in the eastern time zone, kickoff would have to be at 1 am the following morning in Beijing.

For a game to be broadcast at 8 pm in the eastern time zone, kickoff would have to be at 8 am the following morning in Shanghai.

Research for where to play next for the suits at 345 Park Avenue probably consisted of nothing more than googling 'largest countries by population', without a moment's consideration of logistics. Next up will surely be a game in Bombay, followed by others in Jakarta and Karachi.

And the buffoon will be lauded for opening up more revenue streams. Oh joy.

China?

Dang it... that's too much like a vacation for Kensil. I was hoping for something like Damascus or Kabul.

But I guess as long as Beijing isn't added to the AFC (Far) East, it's all good.

There you go - 9:00 am there, 9:00 pm here. It's on. It's absurd, but it's on.

I was answering your 1pm stance, wasn't particularly serious. But be snarky twat if you have to.

That certainly wasn't my intention.

Don't the Patriots have a Patriots.com website in Chinese? The NFL had better not plan to send the Pats. Kraft should say a definitive no.
