Plagiarist borges whining again: "Where were Feinberg and AFL-CIO for Rice & Peterson?"

Goodell didn't serve as arbitrator of his own discipline on Rice or Peterson if I remember correctly. THAT'S the issue at hand. THAT'S why the AFL-CIO, et al, are writing amicus briefs. If Goodell hadn't served as arbitrator for Brady, this would have been over ages ago because Brady would have won. But he did, which flies in the face of "fairness", and is high profile enough that it could, no, WOULD, have massive ramifications for all unionized workers with collective bargaining deal with arbitrators to settle disputes.
Goodell wasn't the arbitrator for Adrian Peterson, but he did appoint the arbitrator and the same questions of fundamental fairness and adherence to the CBA. That's why we are all waiting for CA8's decision on that matter, and it helps us if Peterson wins.

Ray Rice's suspension never ended up in court because a neutral arbitrator heard the case and ruled in his favor.

Where was Feinberg’s “concerns” and the AFL-CIO’s “outrage” when Ray Rice’s rights, including the one protecting him against double jeopardy, were trampled on? Crickets./QUOTE]

Good lord, please don't tell me that's the exact quote. Does he not have an editor? It should be,
"Where WERE Feinberg’s “concerns"
as corrected in the thread title.

A new low for a once-excellent writer.

I mean, he kind of has a small point but the issue here isn't race it's that most people aren't really interested in intervening on behalf of someone who beats a 4 year old's scrotum or Super Saiyans his 90 lb wife through a concrete wall.

The reality is that while the AFL-CIO and other places should have been concerned about issues in those cases from a pure arbitration standpoint they're PR losers for them in a big way.

That and you can't convince me that if Tom Brady was from the darkest parts of Africa, wore yellow green and red all the time, lead the Million Man March, knocked over Bernie Sanders to shout Black Lives Matter and had a cameo in every NWA video that these people who are submitting briefs on his behalf wouldn't be doing so all the same. Tom Brady isn't getting this support cause he's too vanilla even for CBS he's getting this support because not only did he not physically assault someone but he also happens to be the victim of a powertripping idiot and ignorance of the laws of nature.

"As far as the science goes, can one of those professors tell us what the temperature was in the officials’ room? No. End of lab experiment.."

It should have been the end of Goodell's case also, the whole thing was a farce.

PAH LEEZ don't tell me Borges is playing the race card!

It's irrelevant to Brady's case
Oddly race is a huge part of this case. Brady was hit so hard by Roger for an equipment violation (which never happened) because he is white and Roger did this to try and show that he is not just going after black players like Rice and Peterson.

That includes blustery attorneys trying to claim someone calling himself “The Deflator” was really on a weight-loss program, to a coterie of college airheads (which may be fitting in this case) citing the Ideal Gas Law as if it came down from the Mount as the only way air can escape from a football, God said. For the record folks, it ain’t.

As far as the science goes, can one of those professors tell us what the temperature was in the officials’ room? No. End of lab experiment.

There is so much wrong with this. It makes me want to start punching.

If you would have said "and owned every DVD and VHS of 'Roots'" this post would have been the post of the Millennium. You'll just have to settle for Post of the Year.

Ya, I had the same thought too.

"As far as measurements go, can the league tell us what the initial pressure was, what the temperature was and which gauge was used? No. End of accusation..."

I'm not sure if it's because of his father's work, but Borges is a big, pro-Union guy, except when the Patriots are involved. Imagine that level of hatred, that he's willing to turn his back on long-held values just because Brady and Belichick are involved.

Regarding the "what was the temperature in the officials room" comment, shouldn't that be one of the easiest pieces of the equation to gather? I have to believe that all the thermostats in a facility like Gillette Stadium are programmed. It shouldn't be hard to check the thermostat in that room and see that, on Sundays, it is set to 72, for example. Of course, I seem to remember hearing that Exponent used a different temperature for their experiments than what the Patriots said the room was at.

Copied from TB-Helmet's post. Edited for perspective.

"That includes blustery attorneys trying to claim someone calling himself “The Deflator” IN MAY was really on a weight-loss program, to a coterie of college airheads, 21 esteemed Scientists, Doctors and Physicists (which may be fitting in this case) citing the Ideal Gas Law as if it came down from the Mount as the only way air can escape (Clearly he is still clueless of the difference between pressure loss and air loss) from a football, God said. For the record folks, it ain’t."

"As far as the science goes, can one of those professors tell us what the temperature was in the officials’ room? No. End of lab experiment." (This is just plain stupid)

They knew the upper and lower limit of temperature variables among other factors and were able to build a Window of possibility from them. That window, when properly established, suggests that nothing happened but definitely establishes that Brady did not want to gain a competitive advantage on the football field.

that maybe one of Goodell's reasons, I don't think it's the only one. he's also placating the other 31 for what they consider too light a punishment for Spygate, BB's lack of deference to the Commish and adherence to their stupid rules, other infractions (warm gatorade) and because they continue to win.

Good points!

If I ever see Borges in public, I may try to sucker him into a fight. Hey, he's my age so I wouldn't feel bad

"Down goes Borges!! Down goes Borges!!"

:D

Yeah you pointed out everything that got my blood boiling, excellent annotation. I'm hoping Borges is just trolling to provoke a reaction and isn't really dumb enough to believe what he wrote. But doubt it.

Intelligence isn't Borges's problem. Blind hatred of Belichick is. All anyone needs to know is that he refers to the IGL as the Ideal Gasbag Law. Phony, miserable puke.
