The New York Jets announced today that the following players have been placed on waivers: tackle Jason Fabini, quarterback Jay Fiedler, linebacker Barry Gardner, defensive tackle Lance Legree, fullback Jerald Sowell and wide receiver Harry Williams, Jr. Additionally, the Jets and CB Ty Law mutually agreed today not to exercise the contract options for the 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons.

Do any of you think Fabini might make for a nice option for o-line depth? I don't really know what his market value would be, but I think he would be great for either a starter at RT or a backup at both T spots. Like I said I don't know how much he'd cost, but if he was cheap enough, I think he'd be a great signing.

Don't know if he fits in the budget. Granted, he's been cut and may be willing to work for less. What injury caused him to only play 9 games this past season?

RE: Fabini

Just found out he missed last half of season with torn pec muscle.

On Jetsfans site, people were talking about cutting him a couple days ago due to getting old & slow. At 31, he may be past usefulness.

Are they leaving him "hanging"

You made me actually laugh out loud. My co-workers all turned and looked. I had to pretend I was laughing at a really funny project. Right.
