I hate watching the way defenders tackle Gronkowski, he takes more low blows than any player in the NFL and I feel like his career is on borrowed time if that continues.

Unfortunately I trust the NFL about as much as I trusted my high school GF when she was drunk, so I don't see it changing.

So my question is should he wear a brace or some type of support, what type of restrictions or limitations would occur if he did? I am not saying the brace is going to protect him completely but it could offer some.

Wearing a knee brace can limit your movements to an extent, mainly quickness... Gronk is not the quickest guy... having said that him wearing a brace is good to prevent more injuries.. he can make up for any limitations with his physical abilities if he doesn't get called for OPI :D

Just put him in the 'OR', and turn him into the '6-Million Dollar TE'.....

i've brought this up before, Braces i think will impact lateral cuts, something gronk really doesnt do, but for straight ahead speed it shouldn't impact him too much.

Really I'd rather him always be in a brace, just like how our o linemen are required to wear them.

Wouldn't hurt to try. He could always take it off if it limited him too much.

Love when people who have never done anything remotely athletic in their lives make ridiculous topics like this :)

I played a whole season of rugby with a knee brace. I played inside center which required multi-directional movement. Still, the hindrance was negligible. I don't know what you're implying with your statement.

Don't worry. If the knee fails, take the limb. Gronk will generate a new one.

I played football in high school, was a member of 2 championship teams and was part of the first season of football at Endicott College in 2003. I just never wore any type of brace and was not a skill position player. I created the thread... If you have an issue feel free to PM me and share that with me, if you just had no meaningful thoughts to add to this and decide to make some dumb statement because are a person who just has to say something, that's OK too.. Happy Holidays!!

How's your route running? Get BB on the phone before it's too late to try out ;)

The implication is that if you believe a knee brace can in any way protect your from a contact injury, I have a bridge in Saskatchewan you might be interested in investing in.
