Is this the best chance we have had in a while to win the SB? Last year was a tough road and we won but this year - our traditional rivals don't seem to be that strong and the biggest threat I foresee is from the Steelers but playing at home - gives us the advantage. I know it's looking way ahead but with where we are now - I feel really good that we will be representing the AFC in SF in Feb.....

Let's get that #1 seed locked up and I will agree.

SRSLY?

This year in general, the NFL is being composed by many mediocre teams.

We have 13 4-5 teams. I've read somewhere that it's the most ever since 80 (Not really sure). And this is more than just record in general. The Broncos and Falcons are two of the best standing teams, but they have been playing some bad, ugly football.

The way I see it, there are 3 big teams this year, besides us:

Bengals - who were playing great, they have a very balanced team, with great players in both sides of the ball. But, as we've seen last monday, they seem to still suffer from some sort of aversion to the spotlight.

Panthers - Great defense for sure, but I am not sold on the whole "Newton's Greatness". He's the 21st placed QB in yards and, most baffling of all, He is completing 56.3% of his passes. This is absolutely horrendous. Plus, I hate his antics, he's completely immature (And not in the fun, Gronk-type, kind of way).

Cardinals - Those are the real deal for me. They are playing great, Palmer is great and have an awesome coach. I would bet them reaching the SB this year, and honestly, I would not be surprised if they win it all this year.

If we were completely healthy, I would dare to sound presumptuous and say that we were a bit better than those teams. If we are able to count on Edelman, Collins, At least 2 tackles and Coleman (I simply dread on the possibility of counting in Melvin as our 3rd CB) during the Play Offs, I still say we are favorites to reach the SB

I want to see how we look the next two games. The One seed should get them to the Super Bowl. If it is true that Edleman can play in the playoffs I think him just being on the field helps tremendously even less that 100% even substantially less. I am going to choose to be pessimistic about him coming back this year and count it as a huge bonus if he does. But in summary this is definitely a year you need to go win this Super Bowl. If we were not injured I would say dominance and 19-0.

Palmer is great?

That's a team I totally respect. It's crazy that it took so long for Bruce Arians to get a head coaching job -- he's the same age as Belichick.

Nothing's a given. This team has to stay away from injuries. The squealers scare me because of that offense.

Let's put it this way, the Patriots are one of just a few elite teams this year. But, the Panthers, Cardinals, Packers, and Bengals are not to be taken likely. Sure, it seems that there will be less resistance from the AFC in general, but much like it has been in 2007, 2011, and 2014 success will come down to how well we face off against the NFC Super Bowl participant.

I would not sleep on Arizona.

I just got through watching 3 Games to Glory IV again, and it was odd seeing and hearing those former rivals that the Pats have apparently put out to pasture.

With the way Harbaby whines it may take a while for them to recover from being outcoached so badly on such a big stage. Having the top pick in the draft while we have no 1st rounder will certainly help them, but I don't think it will help enough.

Forget about Indy. SuckForLuck has turned into SuckIsLuck, and watching the video reminded me of just how inept they were/are. In one segment a defensive player was standing on the sidelines proudly proclaiming that they "bend but don't break." Huh? Not only do they break they crumble like a dried up cookie. In another segment a coach was telling them that there were 9 minutes left, but his tone was more along the lines of then it will be over instead of they have enough time to make a comeback.

And then there were the Seahawks. I can't remember a team with more **** talkers than that team. It was especially evident before the game when the Pats players were talking themselves up while Seattle's players were talking the Pats down. One Seahawk even called the Pats an embarrassment to be playing against. The only thing embarrassing about that game was the conduct of the Seahawks after they got the lead and after they lost it.

As for this year's rivals, the 3 that Jay mentioned are definitely respectable, Cincy, Carolina and Arizona, and I would also add the Steelers. But if we were to get back the injured or missing players then we will be tough to beat. As long as we have Tommy LomBrady then what he said prior to the SB last year is also true this year. This is about our time.
